Usually when an apliance goes dead or burns because of a bad voltage regulation and won't come back on , there is no way to fix it. I would recommend not to spend time or money on someting that is unfixable. Try to see if you can get a warranty replacement.

You said that you changed the "Lead", does that mean that you replaced the A/C cord? And after that it started to work for a while? If so, does this unit have an A/C cord that you can take out and plugs into the back of the unit?

If this is the case, it may need some solder connections on the A/C jack that the cord plugs into to be re-soldered. These type of jacks often get broken solder joints on them and this will cause the unit to be totally dead.

If I am wrong about my assumptions, could you please give a little better detail about what you have done concerning this "lead". Just what type of "lead" is this one that you replaced?

Thanks,

Dave

I have a rover cd32 radio /cd it was working fine i stopped for 5 minutes and when i started the car again the radio was dead.the fuse appears ok as the clock is working and are on the same fuse,pushed...

  • This shows a faulty head unit sometimes...
  • The fuses for these systems are usually two.
  • One right behind the music system, clock and the head works on it.
  • Then the second on the fuse box of the car.
  • Usually used fuse is the accessory- cigarette lighter kit fuse. Check for any blown fuse in the fuse box.
  • Then check the connection lines of the main supply(red\yellow), ground(black).
  • If this is not a remedy then go to the service center to get an advice. Do not open the head unit yourself !!

I have a Sony Cdx-gt300. When the head unit receives power it turns on, the clock shows, and then the Radio functions scroll continuously. The radio has been reset a dozen times at least. I have also...

you might have a button stuck, try gently pulling the function button out a little bit. i used a sheet rock knife razor blade and was able to release it but after pressing the function button again it started all over again. good luck.

There is no power to the radio it does nothing will not light up.

Check the fuse on the back of the stereo, usually 25amp blade fuse, and there could be another near the other end of the power lead. If that doesn't work, run a new earth lead (black on the back of the stereo, to any earthed metal), power lead (yellow, to a good positive terminal or to the battery), accessory lead (red, to the ignition switch or a fuse associated with it). If neither of these work then your head unit will more than likely be dead or have a security feature stopping it from powering up.

I have not tried to fix the computer as this is far beyond my abilities. I called a repairman and he said to unplug the unit from the wall and then plug it back in. Did that but nothing happened.

Is the computer completely dead no lights nothing?
If it is
1 check the power lead is plugged into the back.
2 Check the power lead fuse.
3 Check the power lead in another device to establish if it's working.
4 Check your wall socket with another device.
Can you here a humming sound when you switch on i.e. the PSU starting up.
If power is being supplied to the unit and you cannot here the PSU starting up it has to be the PSU in the computer and it will need replacing.

We have Frigidaire 24 in. FDB1050REC dishwasher. The control panel has no power; no lights and nothing works. This problem started after a power outage. All circuit breakers in house ok and other outlets...

more than likely fuse is gone in plug. take dish washer out. change fuse in plug. if it doesnt work get extension lead and run it from a socket that definatly does work and plug washer into that. if nothing then its internal.

Proform 570 blowing fuse

there are generally two control boards, I am assuming you looked at the lower one. I would first disconnect the power leads at the board and see if it still blows the circuit breaker (fuse?). If it does the check wiring for short. If OK then reconnect power leads and then disconnect all other wires (plug-ins) to the board and try again, each time plug a connection in and retry. (remember to disconnect power each time). I have a feeling the smoke got let out of this lower board and may need replacement. hope this helps

Unit will not power on.

One or more sections of the power supply are not coming on. This unit has both fuses and ICP's (integrated circuit protectors) in the power supply that may open up causing your symptom. You will need to check and/or replace any open fuses or ICP's. If they immediately open up again, you will need the manual to figure out what is loading the power supply, or what component in the power supply has failed.

check to make sure the power cord is plugged in all the way in the back of the unit as well as to the wall. Try all the obvious things first. change wall out let you have it plugged into etc. Good luck
