Question about GPX C1600 5 in. Portable Television
I honestly don't know what happened, i went away for just a few months, when i came back the player wouldn't work, the antenae was broken and my adapter for the cable is gone, lol, i guess i left it in bad hands, but i took it to get fixed at a repair shop and the guy said it would be cheaper to buy a new one, but i paid so much for this one and i love the way it used to work, can anyone help?
Your cable problem I can't help with. The antenna is fairly easy... you just need to replace it with a second-hand one preferably from an old radio that is no good. Just make sure that it is the same size where it screws into the unit. The CD is the easiest part of the lot to fix, contrary to what Repair shops tell you. I don't think these people are dumb, and I don't think they intentionally try to rip us off by selling a new item instead, but I have found that cleaning the lens in the CD player fixes the problem. I buy old CD players that don't work, and within two minutes they are playing again. First try to use one of the commercial lens cleaners. I'll be really surprised if this works , though. It usually takes a LITTLE more effort than that... but that is the quick and easy way, and it's best to try that first. If it works OK, please let me know. I'd be interested to find out. If it doesn't, it means you will have to open the case, and clean the lens by hand, using a soft cloth, and what is known in Australia as Methylated Spirits, and then wipe it again with a soft dry cloth.I don't know the Yankee version of "Metho", but you should find it if you google it. If you need any more help, please don't hesitate to ask........ Please remember to rate this answer.
