No Wireless network in the Device Manager

Maybe this will help Open up your device mgr.
In Devise Mgr -If everything is properly detected you'll see all +'s next to each of the device categories with no "Other devices" listed as shown in the example. However, when problems do occur you'll be presented with one or more of the below errors.

When a device has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark or found under "Other devices" this is an indication that the device is conflicting with another hardware device or the drivers for the device are not installed properly.

Double-clicking and opening the device with the error will present you with an error code.

What to do

Remove all devices with exclamation mark and any "Other devices" from Device Manager by highlighting them and pressing the delete key on the keyboard. Once they've all been removed reboot the computer and allow Windows to re-detect the devices.

If after rebooting the computer the Device Manager remains the same Windows is not installing the devices because it lacks the proper driver support. You'll need to download the latest drivers for that device.

The software driver can't see past the express adapter. You needed to get the card in express format, rather than PCMIA.

1. check the cable to the DVD or CD to the sound card it may not be connected properly.
2. remove the sound card from the motherboard and do "shutdown" then restart without the sound card.
3. Shutdown again reinstall the sound card and reinstall the drivers for the sound card.
4. check the the manufacturer website for any firmware upgrade drivers

No sound. yellow (!) by audio driver in device mgr. error 10

Go to your device manager (windows key+break, device manager is on the left) and under "Sound, video and game controllers" will be "Realtek High Definition Audio" which has the yellow exclamation mark. Right click it and select uninstall. Reboot, and Windows should detect new hardware. If Windows doesn't automatically install the proper driver, the latest one can be downloaded from Realtek at the following link:

Xp audio problem. my volume icon wont show at all on the tray if if i set it to not hide. tried system restore but nothing. on-board sound is enabled even in the bios. tried reisntalling appropriate...

Try really uninstalling the audio device first, then reboot and install. Sometimes a driver reinstall or update fails if you don't uninstall it.

Are you certain that you have the right drivers?

Acer aspire 5315-2077

It may show up under USB devices, your audio is Realtek, check to see if it's showing up in device manger. Old trick is to remove the hardware by deleting it from device mgr, reboot and it should pick up the hardware and then install the software for it. The realtek is what I am describing, make sure you physically remove the magic jack before doing this.
