All Chips generate heat when running, so the thing to do is decide if you're just feeling normal heat. If you can't leave your finger on the problem chip for several seconds - its bad.

you might want to put cooling fans on your amp to help cool it down or move it to a more airy spot in your vehicle all amps need air circulation if no air the amp will fry

little solution for them amplifiers warming up the red neck way and the city way i will speak of especially during summer
Red Neck way
get 2 funnels any will do put one in front of vehicle mounted for air flow get a hose make sure to cut to length
mount this hose under vehicle mounted to chassis make sure end of funnels are hose clamped off drill hole threw floor stick the hose threw connect other funnel mount close to amplifier you just made a vent for amp with air
City way
Buy some cooling fans proper to the amp and mount on amp accordingly to releave warm hot air
anything else wouldnt be productive

High power audio will always generate heat, Class D amps should generate less but will still genereate some. The chips are should at least be designed to work up to 85degC = 185degF. Audio units should also have heat protection built in, almost all decent audio electronics should shut themselves down when they get too hot. If this happens to you often, consider mounting it in a different way to get more cooling air to the unit.

Is this a Nakamichi deck? Its typical if it is . Shouldnt have to wurrli.. Your cd's might be hot too when ejected [if it's a cd model] bob c camache ,ia. p.s. Nakamichi decks will make you want to change your speakers after you install. They are that good. DO NOT BUY ANY OTHER CAR AUDIO DECKS OTHER THAN NAKAMICHI. YOU WONT REGRET IT UNLESS YOU HAVE HEARD THE DIFFERENCE NAKAIMICHI DECKS MAKE IN YOUR SOUND. THEY START AT ABOUT [CD DECKS] $200.00
