Re: Battery

The new battery may not be an original Sony infolithium type which has internal and interactive circuits. These infolithium types constantly informs you about the battery condition. The only way is to try another battery. Sivaram.V

My Sony SLT-A33 shutdown an won't restart

It's most likely a battery/camera issue. So, the first thing is to be sure your batteries are fresh. If the camera takes standard double A batts, it's easy. If it takes a dedicated battery, that will be more difficult to trouble shoot. You might simply need a new battery. They do die after hundreds of recharges.
Before replacing a dedicated battery though, try these two things.
First, find an old fashioned pencil with eraser tip.
Using the eraser, gently rub the contacts on the battery to remove any dirt or oils. Next (and be careful with this), you want to do the same thing with the battery contacts in the camera. Gently rub those contacts and blow and residual eraser crumbs out of the camera.
If that doesn't work, I would first try a new dedicated battery. It's a whole lot cheaper than sending for repair.

My Lumix DMC-LX5 camera won't turn on

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Hello there.

Since you already changed the battery and still having the same problem, let's try other things.

First, remove the SD card from your camera and try to turn it on. Make sure your battery has a charge.

If that works, then it means the problem is with the SD card.

Also make sure that the battery cover is locked firmly.

Try those first and then update me.

Help! My Samsung PL70 which is 6months old has

Mine just did the same thing. It is frozen on and stopped working while I was trying to change the flash setting. Even the image of what I was pointing at is stuck on the screen. Mine is only about 3 months old. I tried holding down the power button and it did nothing. Taking the battery out and putting it back in worked. I hope this doesn't happen again!

Camera wont turn on

I actually fixed mine... please read all instructions b4 making actions...
i dont know how but ill tell u wat i did. (brace urself.. i will rambling a bit with unnecessary details, but it may help u... SO
i went to target... where i bought the camera and

1. bought a new battery b/c other forums said its the battery thats deffective.... This didnt help because i put the new battery in and it did the same thing.

2. i cleaned the new battery with a q-tip (the 3 metal parts.. and the inside of the camera where the metal parts connect) This did not work either

3. Clicked it to FAVORITES cuz i knew it was able to review pictures... i clicked menu and i reformatted the Month day and year and time (because it said it was wrong)... that didnt help...

4. finally... i decided this may work like the iPod.. so i held down the ON/OFF button while holding down the Time/Ascending Folder button (its in the circular panel where OK button is ... it is the button under OK on the circular panel) ... and eventually that green blinking light kept blinking... and all of a sudden i the monitor was showing picture again .. i took a picture of myself... deleted it... went back to camera mode... turned off the camera turned it back on... and its back to normal....

4- 1/2. I but back in my old battery... and it works like normal

IN CONCLUSION.... maybe its not ur battery. .so b4 u go out and spend 29.99 onn a new rechargable... follow my instructions and maybee it will work for u too!!

Olympus Stylus 730 Digital - Won't work 60 days old

I'm having the exact same problem. I was in the middle of zooming on a shot and it froze, so I turned the camera off and on, and now I get the 5-chimes+Zoom Error screen. This is nuts, I've only had the thing for six months, and it was $250 (got the Stylus 730). I *think* I got a replacement plan so that's good. But still... I hope circuit city lets me get a different brand b/c I'm not happy with this now. The only problem I had before was the HORRID shutter delay. I want a model that doesn't have that problem .

Kodak DX6440 won't power up using batteries

There's a chance that the drop is irrelevant to your problem. You could try using a small eraser to clean the battery contacts down in the chamber (make sure to dump out any eraser particles) and try a new CRV-3 battery, which because of it's slightly longer body produces a little more pressure on the contacts. If that doesn't work to improve things then your cam might need a repair, your call there. Good luck
