Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Kodak easyshare 5300 all in one printer

I have done everything the printer says to do and more but it will not print much of anything and when it does it is very very poor. I got new ink no change. I bought this printer last thanksgiving 2007 and it has not worked for about 5 months and I know my warranty if any is probably up. i can not afford another printer and I thought it would be more compatable with my Kodak camera. What can I do I have cleaned and calibrated and what ever it says to do but no change.
Help I have important papers I need to copy but it will not work. The reason I took so long is because I just got finished moving but it did not work before the move.

I had the same problem from new , all printing was very poor and a pinkish colour, I contacted Kodak and they sent me a replacement printhead and new printcartridges free of charge. The printheads appear to be a common fault with the Kodak printer , mine is a 5300. As soon as I replaced the print head all printing was extremely good and correct colours!! the print catridges appear cheap but run out very quickly also! the 6x4 printing is easy to use however but next time I would choose another make. hope this helps . Phone Kodak and explain you have not used the printer , I am sure they are aware of the manufacturing fault with this printers printhead!! I am told some people have had the printhead changed a number of times in succession.

Hi,

Common problem with Kodak print heads. And since you're done with the troubleshooting and is likely very familiar with the printer and its problem, definitely the print head is going bad again.

Thanks

Photo paper

1. Never put XtraLife paper from a printer dock in any inkjet printer. This paper is not made for inkjets. The ink will simply spill all over the place.
2. You can use any paper you wish that is inkjet paper but you must set the appropriate settings through the print manager if the paper is anything but Kodak inkjet photo paper. The 5100, 5300, and 5500 all recognize the backprint on the Kodak paper and automatically optimize the settings. Other brands of paper are not optimized in this fashion and therefore must be done manually through the print manager or software.
