Hello,

You need to check both the file size setting and the compression setting. The information is on page 38 of your user manual. Here's a link to an online copy of your camera manual - scroll down to page 38 for detailed instructions on how to access and change those settings. I don't want to confuse you by trying to type out the directions - the user manual has illustrations of the icons so it's better if you look up the instructions in your manual or the online version.

Bad camera view

Step 1:
Whether your holding a video business conference, having a personal video chat with a friend or recording video with your laptop webcam, image clarity plays a huge factor in the quality of the video. There are a number of factors that contribute to the image quality, including available lighting and screen resolution settings.
Adjust your webcam settings, such as brightness contrast, hue and saturation to accommodate the lighting in the room. In order to access your webcam settings, click on "Start" and open the "Control Panel." Choose "Hardware" and then choose your internal webcam from the hardware menu. Select the "Properties" tab to open the setting controls and slide each bar until you achieve the ideal visual settings for your broadcast. Increase the available lighting behind you when conducting a webcam chat, but do not increase the lighting close to the webcam. A lack of back lighting not only creates a darker image projection, but can cause graininess. Too much light close to the webcam can blanch the image, making it difficult to see. Adjust your screen resolution. When the image quality is blurred and distorted during a webcam broadcast, lowering your resolution can sharpen the image projection. To lower your resolution, right-click on your desktop and click "Properties." Choose "Screen Resolution," from the available prompts. Lower the screen resolution one step below where it is currently set and test the image quality. If it needs further sharpening, repeat the process until you achieve the desired clarity. Adjust settings in the video chat program you are using. For example, if you are using Skype, select "Tools" and click on the "Video" icon in the left toolbar. Select "Webcam Settings" and adjust your visual and camera function settings, such as the hue and saturation, as well as lighting compensation. Test your bandwidth settings. If the traffic on your network is high, and multiple users are sharing the same Internet connection, it can affect your bandwidth and lower the quality of your video projection. In order to conduct a quality video session, you should have minimum bandwidth connection of 128 kbps. To check your bandwidth, visit an online test site like SpeedTest and run a bandwidth check. Dust off the lens to free dust particles with an air can. Dust particles can cloud the clarity, but you don't want to wipe them away with your fingers or a rough cloth. Blasting the lens with a burst of canned air will blow away debris and help improve picture clarity.

You may not be able to change the image to 300 dpi, but you can change the image quality to S (small). Go to the camera's Menu and then to Image quality and select the lowest image quality setting.

Setting dpi on my nikon d3100

DPI (dots per inch) is an output specification and is irrelevant to the camera. The camera puts a value into the field simply because it has to put something there. The DPI is set by the printing program when it prints a picture. A picture printed at 4x6 will obviously have more dots per inch than the same picture printed at 8x10.

My printer prints blurrey out of focus pictures. I download from my camera and print a few on photogaph paper. This happened once before and for reasons that evade me it cleared up and printed fine. ...

Before replacing this awesome printer try this steps first.

First check the paper you're using, load the paper with the printing side down.

In the program being used for printing, click File , and then click Print .

Make sure the appropriate printer is selected, and then click Preferences or Properties.

Click the Printing Shortcuts tab. Consider modifying some or all of the options in the Printing Shortcuts menu to increase print quality.

Print quality : If the quality of the printouts is not acceptable, try increasing the print quality. To print more quickly, try decreasing the print quality.

Paper type : If one of the options matches the paper type exactly, select it instead of Automatic .

Paper size : Make sure that this option matches the paper loaded in the product.

Make sure that the image file has enough resolution for the size of the printed picture. Although many photo applications can enlarge an image or part of an image to any size, eventually the individual pixels become visible and the whole image looks blurry.

Why do my pictures look faded with up and down stripes?

Check the paper to make sure you are using the correct paper type for the project. If the paper is too fibrous, the ink applied by the printer might not fully cover the print surface.
  1. In the program being used for printing, click File , and then click Pring . The Print window opens.
  2. Make sure the appropriate product is selected, and then click Preferences or Properties . The Preferences/Properties window opens.
  3. Click the Printing Shortcuts tab. Consider modifying some or all of the options in the Printing Shortcuts menu to increase print quality.
    • Print quality : If the quality of the printouts is not acceptable, try increasing the print quality. To print more quickly, try decreasing the print quality.
    • Paper type : If one of the options matches the paper type exactly, select it instead of Automatic .
    • Paper size : Make sure that this option matches the paper loaded in the product.
To see additional options, click the The Advanced Features window opens. Consider changing the following option: Ink volume : Adjust the amount of ink that prints on a page. For lighter images (less ink), drag the slider to the left. For darker images (more ink), drag the slider to the right. The lighter the ink volume, the more quickly the printout dries.
Press and hold the asterisk (* ) and pound (# ) buttons on the product control panel.
  1. When the control panel reads *******#######, release the asterisk (* ) and pound (# ) buttons.
  2. Press the 3 , 2 , and 9 buttons, in that order.
  3. Press the right arrow button (c00420524.gif ) to select Special Reports , and then press OK .

How to enlarge a picture that is scanned or copied? When i scan or copy a picture it is too small and I want to enlarge it in order to view it better.

hi

Open an image. Go to the Image Menu and select Image Size. This is where you can change an image’s resolution and print size (width and height). The following Image Size dialog box will appear:
image_size_cs.gif
Notethat the width and the height of the image as you view it on yourmonitor is not necessarily representative of the image’s actual widthand height—i.e., the size it would print out at (print size).Average monitor resolution is 72 dpi. If you view a 72 dpi image at100% in Photoshop, chances are that it will appear on your screen inits actual print size. However, this is not true when viewing a 300 dpiimage. A 300 dpi image viewed on-screen at 100% will be enormous. Don’tget tricked into believing that what you see on your monitor is whatyou’ll get when you print or place the image into another application. The best way to determine what your image’s actual print size will beis through the Image Size dialog box.
When the Resample Imagebox is checked, any changes you make to an image’s width or height willnot change the image’s resolution, and as such, any changes you make toan image’s resolution will not affect the image’s width and height.Keep in mind, however, when you increase width and height, orresolution, with the Resample Image box checked, you are adding pixelsto your image. These pixels don’t actually exist so Photoshop mustcreate them. As such, you will succeed only in degrading the quality ofyour image.
If you want to increase an image’swidth and height, or resolution, then uncheck the Resample Image box.Now any changes you make to the image’s width and height will changethe image’s resolution, and vice versa:
  • If you decrease resolution, the width and height will increase.
  • If you increase resolution, the width and height will decrease.
  • If you increase the width or height, the resolution will decrease.
  • If you decrease the width or height, the resolution will increase.
Thebest way to increase the width and height of a scanned image is to scanthe image in at a high resolution (about twice what your finalresolution should be), and with the Resample Image box unchecked, decrease the resolution. Once the image width and height is where you want it, you can then check the Resample Imagebox and type in the resolution you want if the resolution is too high.At this point, as long as you don’t increase resolution, or width andheight, your image quality will not suffer.

Image quality when manually

High or Normal settings are selectable with the DiMAGE E201 for camera sensitivity. Normal is almost equivalent to ISO 85 and high is almost equivalent to ISO 340. High is useful under dark conditions as the flash range increases (0.6 to 5m), but noise increases with sensitivity as electric signal is more amplified, which may result in coarse image. Please select the rating that best suits your purpose.

Poor image quality

hotoPC 650 captures images in 24-bit color (16.7 million colors). Your pictures will not display maximum image quality if your monitor or computer's video controller doesn't support this color depth. Additionally, if your pictures are taken in 1154 x 864 mode, try increasing your video resolution above 640 x 480. You may need to upgrade your system to achieve the best possible image quality. If your pictures look better on the screen than when you print them out, you may need to upgrade your printer. An EPSON Stylus ink jet printer, for example, provides excellent image quality. If you used drag and drop to insert your pictures, they may appear grainy. Try importing them into your documents instead.
