If you,ve recently re-installed the software. this could be A Virus.
On booting try hitting F2 several times, which should let you into the bios screen.this will give you access to the bios setup. only attempt to edit-change or remove the password from there. ** Don,t mess with other settings** unless your sure of what youre doing. if there is no password set. then it,s hard-drive password related. and possible infection.
if you have anti-virus software on CD/DVD. and can access the Bios F2. you can change the device boot sequence. get the CD drive to be first-boot. then put the anti-virus software disk into the cd drive. reboot and this will be the first device the laptop will boot to.
If all else fails, it,s the daunting task of removing the CMOS battery, from the motherboard for 10 minutes, so the laptop should default back to original factory default settings.
hope this is of help to you.

To set up the router, you connect directly to the router with a network cable, log into the router using your Internet browser, to a code like 192.168.0.1, or similar. I suggest that you use the wizard, but be sure to change: Wireless security of WEP and access code of your 10 digit home or cell phone#, change system ID to something you recognize, change router access password AND RECORD IT, change wireless channel to 11 and avoid conflict with landline cordless phones.
With routers, you have to SAVE on each page or loose settings.
Then install the router, and look for it in the wireless connections list on your laptop. Give the access password and you should be good to go. The desktop usually connects via network cable.
did you change anti virus
did you change your router-if yes, unplug count to 20 and plug back in and try again connecting to it-it may need to find ip address again
is the router password protected-you may have to input it
are you using someone else's internet and they have changed there settings
The best and safest way is to reinstall Windows. And that too after formatting the HDD while installing. The virus has done its job. Sorry to hear your story but too bad. And also change all your previous passwords immediately as the virus may have sent your passwords to whomsoever it was supposed to. Before the damage occurs, change all passwords. And use new ones after installing an anti virus program.
First method:
1. go to messenger menu 2. select connection preference/ preference 3. the tab will automatic select connection preference, if it doesn’t, select it manual. 4. change your internet conection type, Example: if Broadband -> broadband(DSL/Cable).
Second Method
If any proxy in Internet Explorer for anti-filtering purposes, thru which Y! Messenger was trying to connect. Need to remove it to get it done.
just go to: Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections (tab) > Lan Settings (button)
then uncheck the Proxy server checkbox.
