Hayward H series propane pool heater, how do I convert to gas?.

I used to be able to get it through my supplier but the link is now dead and shows product not available. I am sure you can get this through Hayward direct. The last kit I bought was around $200 (my cost, not retail). As for a used kit, I seriously doubt that is an option.

I need to get a manual for a Charmglow electric fireplace Model # CGN250TED-C 25,000 BTU Pure Comfort solutions and I cant find a website, i need to know where to change it from natural gas to propane. ...

I am almost totally confused. You started out saying you have a Charmglow Electric Fireplace. Then you said you want to change it from natural gas to propane.

Could you please be a little more specific in what you have? So I can help you. As Charmglow only makes Electric Fireplaces. No gas ones.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

I have 3 natural gas fire places. i would like to know if i can change it to propane. i'm thinking i would just have to change the logs and hook a tank up outside. can some tell me if this would work.

Hello,
Typically gas log sets are factory made for either natural gas or propane. If you want to use them on propane you need to find out if a LP conversion kit is available for your brand/model #. Ask the place where you bought them or ask the company that installed them (if you didn't put them in yourself). If they can be changed over to propane, then you will need to buy the propane tanks, regulator and gasline or just have your local propane company put in a pair of 100# cylinders for each fireplace (or 420# cylinder to service all 3 fireplaces) with an auto-switchover regulator. They can also do the conversion, if the conversion kits are available. Let me now if you have any other questions. Douglas

I have a ProCom FBN400TYLA vent free natural gas fireplace and want to convert to propane because the gas company wants too much money to hook up a line. Is this even possible?

Found the manual on line and copied directly from it:
WARNING
Models FBN400 are equipped for Natural
gas. Field conversion is not
permitted.
Models FBL400 are equipped for Propane
gas. Field conversion is not permitted

This should answer your question.
See if you can run the gas line or find someone to do it cheaper for you.

Black soot on glass and black smoke comes out

Remove the burner and clean all holes ,typically at the end of the burner is a cheep sheet metal valve. This valve adjusts the air to gas mixture by rotating it to increase or decrease the combustible air intake.Air must be sucked into the burner as natural gas is injected into it, this makes for a clean flame,The flame should be blue with small yellow tips.If the flame is long and yellow and sooty increase the air intake on the burner valve.

Black sot from vent free gas fireplace

Thanks for your question,
your problem is either impingement on your log set, or a product of incomplete combustion, if you notice soot on your logs, then you will need to take them out, clean them, and reinstall them as to not have the flame touching them, you will need to clean the burners as well, make sure nothing is laying across the burners, as this too will cause sooting, as far as incomplete combustion, was this model a natural gas converted to propane or the other way around ? if so who ever converted it, did they adjust the gas valve according to specs? improper adjustment will cause sooting or hooking up a natural gas unit to propane will do this too, I will recommend using (Rutland White Off) to remove any soot from your glass, it works fantastic for this ! any ace hardware will carry it, please do not use windex or any other cleaner on the glass as it will more than likely leave a rainbow affect on your glass once the glass heats up, hope this was helpful to ya, please rate this solution, thanks agai

Physical difference between natural & propane orfice

Merry Lynn, there will be no physical differences between Natural Gas heaters and Propane Gas heaters. Check the model number of the unit, it may have a N or P or LP printed at the end of it to distinguish which gas it uses. The plate that is attached to the heater should indicate the type of gas it uses.

DO NOT try to convert this heater to another gas.
