Question about InFocus Proxima UltraLight X350 Multimedia Projector

Need to replace proxima x350 fans

I need to replace the fans in my two x350s. I cant find the part numbers, proxima will not tell me the part numbers, but instead refer me to a repair place that will charge 150 just to simply look at them. The repair place will sell me the fans if I get the part numbers, but I can not find the part numbers. Does anyone know the part numbers for the two fan units in the proxima x350?

Thank you

There are no part number because there are no parts available. but if you are getting an overheating message, move the sensor for the front fan or remove it altogether (cut it off, jumper the wires, and tape them up well. and make sure they are away from the fan).

Replace a fan

I'm assuming you researched YouTube for dis-assembly.

But replacing the fan on a Proxima is very unforgiving. You'll have to remove the casing which means taking out a lot of screws. All I can recommend is;

- Obviously disconnect the projector and make sure you don't have any residue charged components, or work from a non-metal table.

- Chances are there's more than one fan, you'll have to make sure you're not removing fans unnecessarily.

- With a digital camera (or cell phone) take pictures of each phase of removing the casing. You'll refer to the pictures when putting it back together. Keep a pill box to hold each screw type.

- There may be plastic tabs around the casing that need to be pry-ed off with a flat-tip screwdriver. Use care removing the hood of the projector. You can damage delicate ribbon cables.

- If you find its more involved than expected, stop and re-assemble it. Then send it in for projector repair.

Good Luck,
-GWOOD

In Focus Ask Proxima M2+ has a squeaking noise and the image flickers. After about 30 minutes the unit goes to standby.

Bearing on the fan is probably shot, causing the unit to heat up and shut down. Repair would more than likely exceed the replacement value of the projector.

I have a proxima s540 ultra lite data

From what you describe, it sounds like a fan isn't working. When you turn on a projector, it will go through a quick self test--checking that everything is operating correctly. Some of the fans send out a signal to the main board telling it that they are running. If no signal is received, the board senses this and auto-shut down occurs to protect the unit from heat damage. The errant fan could be spinning but the computer pulse might not be being generated. It will require a tech to find this out.

My proxima turns on for about 3 seconds and turns back off

are any leds blinking on the top? check all if the fans and the lamp. if you see dark spots or bulges in the lamp, replace it. if there is still an issue, replace the ballast.

Proxima X350: Lamp Shut Down Intermittently > Upgraded Firmware > Fan Not Working

Hello fellows,
I have the same problem with my projector (Proxima UltraLight X350). I have the firmware v1.34.
On my projector, I found a workarround : if I press the 'top arrow' button on the projector at the message prompt, this one simply disapears and the projector works for hour. The drawback is the red led that don't stop blinking.
Can you cooperate and tell us if this solution worked on your projector ? Please also join the firmware version (found in the service menu, with the lamp life).
Cordially,
Tristan
