Haier tv flashing green and red and does not come on

Is the red light flashing if so count the #of flashes it shows consecutively.then Google that #of flashes on that model you will get your answers. If just solid red you may have an issue in the board or compressor

How to scan for TV codes on your DIRECTV remote

• Make sure your TV is turned on.
• Slide the mode switch at top of remote to "TV".
• Press and hold the MUTE button. This is located above the number 1 button.
• While still holding down MUTE, press and hold the SELECT button until green light at the top of the remote flashes twice.
• Then enter 9-9-1, the green light on remote should flash twice.
• Point remote at TV and press CHANNEL UP button. Tap the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly until the TV powers off.
• When the TV powers off, press and release the SELECT button.

Try to disconnect the set and a box if being used from power for a while and then power both back as either could cause this problem.

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

when TV overheats white lines come across the screen

If your TV was manufactured by LG. Red and green flashes could be caused by the CTRL module. The way to tell is to remove the back and look at the boards. the initials LG will be stamped somewhere.The CTRL board is located left of center( viewing from rear) between the power and Y sustain boards. The board has several green LED`s that light up. The cure is a firmware update. However they make no provision such as a USB or CF slot for updates. Therefore a board replacement is necessary. By the way, I believe Sears has a motto " SATISFACTION GARANTEED" Hold them to it. If you go plasma go Panasonic and you wont have near as many problems. Good luck!
