Memory card contains no images after camera turned back on

Pix taken into the memory card playback ok until camera is turned off. When it is turned back on and playback accessed, the notice "Memory Contains No images" comes up. The camera's internal memory stores images ok when camera is turned back on. The memory card was working for a year in another camera and for a month in this camera until all the old images were erased.

Whether the images are there unread or erased doesn't matter, the camera still is doing something wrong and needs to be corrected. I did this after finding out it sometimes erased its own memory too. Nikon now has the camera back and is sending me a new one.

It may be the images are there but the camera is not reading them... I would try to find a place (possibly a photo retailer or a computer repair place) with a card reader to check out to see if that is the case.

How do I format an SD card for a Vivicam 3785?

You can format the SD card in your ViviCam 3785.

This utility formats the internal memory (or memory card) and erases all stored images and data. Make sure your SD card is in the unlocked position.
1. Press the button to turn on your ViviCam 3785.
2. Press the MODE button twice to enter Playback mode. Then press
the button to enter the Playback menu.
3. Select [Delete] by using the up/down arrow buttons, and press the OK button.
4. Select [Format ] by using the up/down arrow buttons, and press the OK button.
5. If you want to format your SD memory card or the internal memory choose
[OK] by pressing up/down arrow buttons, then press the OK button to confirm.
To cancel the action, select [Cancel] instead.
[No Image] pops up after the SD memory card or internal memory
has been formatted.

Lens will not extend, screen is black, ''no image'' message

Make sure you are using a 2GB SD card or smaller. Make sure the camera is set for Camera Mode not Playback. That is the switch that shows a camera or a square with an arrow in it. When the camera is in play back the lens will not come out until the camera is set for camera mode. The no image in playback will occur every time you use an SDHC type memory card. Formatting the memory will not make the camera take the SDHC type cards since it was never designed to use them.
