Wrench light car with wrench inside keeps blinking

Sometimes the service light puts the car into "limp mode" hence the poor performance. Might need a trip to a mechanic to diagnose the cause because intermittent faults are very hard to find.

With the car turned off, press the odometer button, and keep it down, then move the ignition switch to the 2 position (just short of turning the car on, not the radio position). After 15-20 sec approx, the service reminder light will go off, and you can let go of the odometer button. Keep me posted.

That thing about the lights flashing, think about it. that happens only when you lock or unlock the car with remote to set and off-set the security system. Makes sense that your security system is in lock-out mode so nothing works, right?. Disable or reset your security system and you'll be fine.

maybe the oil level sensor went bad. be sure to check the level of the oil with the engine turned off and having it rest a bit. you are not suppose to exceed neither to have it low than the range showed in the dipstick.

The wrench light is a warning light for the transmission or the electronic throttle control .All new vehicle's have electronic throttle control , there are position sensor's in the APP an in the throttle body an they ware out . go to the dealer or VW interprise

You will have to reset the maintance light. Turn the key in the on position.( Not the crank position ) Push the trip meter button until you see the mileage reading. Now turn key off and with left hand hold in trip button. While holding in the button with left hand turn key to on position until you see dash lights. Hold button in until light starts to blink then after 4 blinks release button for 4 blinks then hold in again until light resets. If it doesn't work try trip A instead of mileage reading.

I had the same problem took it to the dealer and it was a sensor inside the transmission.

you might wanna check the wiring inside the shifter

One possibility is that the light in not firmly seated in its socket inside the stereo. If you find that the blinking is worse when driving over bumpy surfaces this will help confirm that the issue is related to an intermittent electrical connection.
