Question about Dell Dimension 8300 PC Desktop
My Dell Dimension 8300 will not allow my see videos in iTunes and other programs but I have sound. What do I need to do to fix this problem? Thanks....
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices (or whatever your OS has in Control Panel for sound). It should show in the top of the window the device it's using to create sound. From the tabs at the top, look for the Audio tab. That shows the default device used to make sounds. There is a drop-down selection. Click that to make sure you have the right device. If you've added a sound card (or it came with one), it may be conflicting with the built-in sound (if it has it). I know, lots of if's..... If that selection is greyed out, then you probably have a sound device or driver problem. Again, if there's a card installed, reboot and bring up the BIOS settings and disable the on-board sound. It's buried in the BIOS settings. Lastly, try looking at HP's web site for drivers for the sound and reinstall them.
