Try running your graphics card in separate screen mode im thinking you may have it in clone mode and is running both displays at the same res, or if the projector can handle it try running the projector at higher res

The signal level is down or the earth lead may be faulty in the vga cable arangement.
Try a different pc and see if the signal level is the same for both pc's. Then try a direct cable again. Then try a different spliiter if you can get hold of one.

My Windows XP is connected to my Epson Powerlite S3, but the screen is blue with the words Source: Computer (Auto) No Signal on it. When I click "Help" on the projector, it takes me to a screen...

'No signal' and 'unsupported signal' messages mean 1 of 2 things, either the VGA output is off(laptop) or the display resolution is set too high(laptop and desktop). Assuming the VGA cable you are using is good, try this:

Desktop: hook the computer back up too your computer monitor & set the computer to the basic VGA resolution. For windows XP, right click a blank area on the desktop, click 'properties' on the dropdown menu, click settings. Write down the numbers in the 'screen resolution' and 'color quality' boxes!

Drag the 'screen resolution' all the way down to then 'less' side. Then change the 'color quality' to the lowest setting. Click apply, then answer yes (the display will look UGLY - don't worry!!) Now connect your computer back to your projector. If it works, then the resolution you use on your desktop monitor is not supported on your projector. Experiment with different resolutions to see which one looks best on your projector. You will need to change the settings each time you switch monitor to projector.

Laptop: by default the VGA connector on your laptop is off. To turn it on, look for a blue symbol on one of your function (F1, F2, F3...) keys. It looks like an old TV with a line on both sides 'O' (F4 on HP) Press & hold the blue button (on the lower left of the keyboard, usually to the left of control ) and tap the bleu button you just found. Let go & give you're a computer a few seconds to change over. If the laptop screen goes blank, you found the correct button! The display image should now be visible. Repeat this 1 to 2 times to change it back to laptop display.

If you did not see the display on the projector, 2 other issues are possible. First, verify that the VGA output on the laptop is working - connect the laptop to a regular computer monitor & change the display resolution to the lowest settings (see desktop above), then try it again on the projector. If you cannot get an image on a computer monitor, your laptop settings may need to be adjusted in the same dialogue box as the settings. Monitor #1 is the laptop display, Monitor #2 is the external output.
Happy viewing :)

Having trouble with Y-VGA splitter, connecting to both Dell 380 computer and projector at the same time - Dell monitor cuts off when connected to projector.

Sounds like the the monitor detect line is causing your issue. The Hitachi CP-X250 has VGA in & out. Hook the Dell to the VGA out port of the projector.

Is it possible to connect a projector and a flat-screen tv and control both with a laptop computer? (the flat screen would be used instead of a projection screen)

when connected at the same time, you need an active signal splitter, or
connect the flat screen to the monitor out terminal of the EIP-2500.

You have three option to view projection screen on your PC SCREEN:
1. Use "Y" cable to connect the projector and pc screen at a time.
2. Use "Video Splitter" to connect projector and pc screen at a time.
3. you can use a VGA cable to connect your pc screen with your projector VGA OUTPUT. here I show you the pictures.good_help_4.jpggood_help_5.jpggood_help_6.jpg

I'm supposed to use computer desktop for my classroom presentation, the plan is I'm going to use my LCD monitor to view my presentation while my students will look at screen shown from the projector. To...

The least expensive way is to use a VGA splitter It looks like a Y. Plug in the one end to your computer then the other two ends will go to your projector and monitor. The one end will be a MALE and the other two ends will be FEMALE. You will still need to 2 other VGA cables to connect the Y to your projector and monitor. When you purchase a Y they are not long at all.

I AM CONNECTING AN EPSON PROJECTOR TO AN IBM MONITOR USING A VIDEO SPLITTER. ON SOME MONITORS THE SCREEN TURNS ORANGE AFTER THE SPLITTER IS HOOKED UP. IS THERE AN ADJUSTMENT I CAN MAKE ON THE PROJECTOR? ...

Either the video splitter or one of the cables was bad. I attached all new cables and a video splitter right out of the box and it worked fine. I think one of the cables was not making a good connection.

Half of monitor screen shows on the projector.

You will need to set your computer to the correct display properties.
This you can do by either going to presentation mode.
Alternatively,
on Window XP you can simply go on to your desktop and right click > go to properties>go to setting> press display 2 and set the screen resolution as per your projectors resolution and enjoy.
( for information: display1 is the resolution meant for your computer).

Please do rate this solution and Thanks for usinf FixYa!
