Question about Aiwa HP-A091 Consumer Headphones
Tuner, turntable, cassette, speakers all good. cd drawer opens. cd drawer closes when cd is inserted. 5 cd tray turns around stopping on each number. cd tray stops without playing any cd. as if no cd is on the tray. for a while the cd cleaner test cd did play. now not even this plays.
Check with a small torch, to ensure that there is no tape broken arround the pinch roller or head, if there was no tape broken away, between the pinch roller and the cassette head there is a white cassette bar, this may have become bent.

The clicking you are hearing is an attempt to focus on the disc. The usual cleaning discs don't work well. Try to gain access to the lens and clean itusing a cotton swab and alcohol. That will remove any film that remains on the lens. If that fails to resolve the problem, the optics will need to be replaced.

Testimonial: "Hello Guru, You were extremely helpful. After wasting my money on a disk cleaner which did nothing, the alcohol with a swab fixed my problem.Thank you!"
It sounds like it's not reading the CD. 2 things to try, neither of which are guaranteed to work:
1) Try changing the brand/colour of your recordable CD. Some machines read different colours/brands better than others; particularly older CD players. If the ones you have are all light-coloured, try burning a couple of dark-coloured CDs and see if that helps
2) It could be the speed at which you're recording. Try burning a CD at 1x speed and see if that helps.
