I have an early 70's Magic Chef series VI oven/stove. The stove works fine. The oven takes about 30 minutes to light. When oven knob is turned pilot works fine. There is no gas odor before the oven lights.

My model is a UA119A-2W and I cannot find a place to light the oven pilot. Nor can I find a copy of the owner's manual anywhere online. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My gas stove is clicking all burners are off

There are switches behind all of the knobs that activate the "sparker" when you turn them. Any one of these will spark all 4 burners. Sounds like you have a bad switch that has stuck in the "on" position. Experience tells me to replace all 4 switches - when one goes, then the others aren't too far behind. Get the part number off the switch and google it. Not too expensive. Until you get them replaced, just unplug the stove and light with a match - remember that the oven will not operate without power cause it has a different igniton system.

Magic chef oven pilot light out

Hi, If the oven has a standing pilot too, Open the bottom door and locate the main burner. Follow the burner toward the rear of the oven and there will be a flame switch attatched to the burner. Hold the flame near the flame switch and the gas should ignite.
Some model do not have a standing pilot in the oven. Please get me your model number off the label located around the opening of the lower door so I can look this up and instruct you better.

REAR RIGHT AND LEFT FRONTBURNER WON'T IGNITE

The most common problem for gas surface burners is that they get gas but don't light. This is generally caused by dirt or grease splatters on the burner itself. Residential-grade range/stove burners are round and have small holes around their perimeter to allow gas to flow out and create a round flame. The gas coming from these holes is often ignited by a small vertical row of holes on the side of the burner. If these vertical holes are clogged or obstructed, the gas can't ignite.

The solution is to clean the burners thoroughly. Use a toothpick to clear the small vertical holes, then allow the burner to dry completely and try lighting it again. If it doesn't light immediately, repeat the procedure

Replacement Parts For Vintage Magic Chef stove

You probably have a 1940's model of Magic Chef. Check for the model number under the lid of the cook top on the upper right hand side of the stove. It should have the model number and the serial number, too. You will need both. The Old Applicance Club run by Jack Santoro is the place to go along with a site called "Antique gas stoves"in Georgia. Good luck with the world of vintage stoves.

you need to plug the oven in; pull it out and you should locate the pwr cord or you may already have it plugged in and have a breaker turned off or a gfi tripped
