I think you need a new video card with tv adapter. because in our school, they use to display the pc of my teacher to his monitor and tv. It will display on the tv and the monitor.

I have a tv screen which i use for my computer.I have the hdmi cords going from the video card on the back to my tv.why is it not working

Hi,
Make sure your t.v. screen supports your display card resolution. Try lowering your display card resolution in display settings. Make sure your t.v. is set to AVI.

Best wishes,

Connected pc to logik 32in lcd tv, getting picture but no sound

Need clarification. Do you have speakers hooked up to your computer? Or did you just plug in a VGA cable from your computer to the TV? The sound can't magically go from your computer to the TV, because VGA cables don't transmit sound. So if you are indeed using speakers, which I doubt, it's a computer problem.
Basically, describe exactly what components you have and how they are hooked up.

I am trying to hook up my dell xps all in one to my sony tv. the tv has a rgb pc hook up but my computer dosent

Judging by the TV with a RGB hookup, I'm sure that it has S-video. So does that motherboard...
Hook it up using S -video (cheap at WalMart), then go to Display properties.
Choose Advanced, then the Intel Chipset.
Choose the TV as the Primary and your TV will become your monitor

Not to computer saavy so please keep it simple. I have a Sony Vaio VGC RA840G desktop with 5.1 surround sound. Also have a Samsung LN46A850 S1F HDTV. Also a home theater system. This is hooked up to cable...

From the looks of the TV manual you have everything right, so it's very odd you're running into this problem.

Have you tried swapping through the sources? I find with one of the TVs we have on display at work that any time I'm having some troubles with it I will change the source from PC to something else, then back to PC.

If that doesn't work then I'd suggest you try reseting the sound settings back to factory default. The instructions are on page 45 of the TV manual. From the TV menu select "Sound", then "Sound Reset", then either "Reset All" or "Reset Sound Mode". I would suggest reseting all.

Last option would be to try using the headphone jack in the side of the TV, though this is a last resort kind of thing since you would have to unplug it every time you wanted to use the cable box.

Hope this helps :)

Hook up a Sony VGC RA 840G desktop to a Samsung 46 inch TV

Some TV's don't have a VGA input. S-Video cable is more common. Look on the back of your computer an see if you have an S-Video jack. If you have a TV compatible output on your computer, such as an S-video jack, just take an S-video cable and connect it to your computer and your TV. If you do not, then attach your VGA end of your adapter to your computer and use the RCA, S-video or Component Video cable to attach to your TV. After you've made all the connections, make sure you are on the correct TV video input. Press the input button on your TV or remote until you see your computer's signal.
