Self-cleaning oven won't complete cycle

I set the self-cleaning cycle for two hours on my Frigidaire Gallery oven. When the time was up, it beeps at me with a F-3 on the display. It's locked and I don't know what to press next. Nothing I press does anything. This is the first time I've tried the self-cleaning cycle. Perhaps I did something wrong? Please help asap! It's still beeping and driving us nuts!

Thank you so much, Jane

Yes, the door is locked. If I cut the power, and then turn it back on, will it unlock and be usable again like normal?

Thanks for your quick response. If I cut the power and turn it back on, will the oven unlock and then be usable like normal?

When the power came back on, the display is normal, but the door is still locked. How to unlock it?

    Thanks again!

Never mind, it has unlocked itself now. YAY!

HI.

F3 implies the control has detected a sensor probe failure. In either case, an alarm will accompany a displayed F1 or F3.

Shorted RTD sensor probe. Note: The F3 for shorted probe should
only occur when the oven is active or when an attempt is made to
enter a mode.
Check resistance at room temperature and compare to RTD sensor
resistance chart. If resistance does not match the chart, replace RTD
sensor probe.
2. Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace
RTD sensor probe
Temperature(°F) Resistance (ohms)
32 ± 1.9 1000 ± 4.0
75 ± 2.5 1091 ± 5.3
250 ± 4.4 1453 ± 8.9
350 ± 5.4 1654 ± 10.8
450 ± 6.9 1852 ± 13.5
550 ± 8.2 2047 ± 15.8
650 ± 9.6 2237 ± 18.5

Hope this is some help? please let me know

F-3 is door lock or temp probe error, I need to check.

Start unplugging the power cord or cutting power by removing circuit breaker. Check also if the door is locked.

F-3 is temperature probe control shorted, this happens either because the temperature probe has blown, or because the connection on the control panel is bad.

When this happens after self cleaning, it is often because the temperature probe gets damaged by the high temperatures generated on the self cleaning cycle.

You find parts and diarams by entering model number here.

If I cut the power, and then turn it back on, and it starts, then you are lucky, it means that the probe was not damaged , but the control panel had just given a wrong feedback. By draining power you reset the control circuit board and get rid of the message.

If the error code comes back, it is a faulty temperature sensor or a faulty control panel, or a short in wirings, usually the probe has blown.

How to fix frigidaire wall oven beeping error message f11

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire wall oven is beeping and showing an F11 error code. Typically an F11 error code states that there is a shorted key, or a button has been detected as pressed for a long time. I suggest hard resetting your appliance, by cutting the power at your homes circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. While you are resetting your oven, make sure to wipe down the control panel. The panel is very sensitive and could be detecting something that has splashed or spilled onto it, even dust. When you bring power back to your appliance you will need to start by setting the clock. Turn your oven on any cycle at any temperature. If you are still receiving an F11 error code, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

How to CLEAN a Frigidaire Self-Cleaning Oven Step 1Use a plastic spoon to scrape...

How to CLEAN a Frigidaire Self-Cleaning Oven
Step 1Use a plastic spoon to scrape away any extra spillovers or burnt-on food from inside the oven. Remove as much of this as you can before running the self-cleaning cycle, because any spillovers left in the oven during the cleaning cycle may cause a lot of smoke.
  • Step 2Wipe off the inside of the oven with a rag dipped in soapy water. Be careful not to get any cleaning supplies on the oven door gasket or to disrupt the position of the gasket at all; having a good seal is critical to the success of the oven's self-cleaning cycle.
  • Step 3Clean any soil away from the oven frame and its door liner with a rag dipped in soapy water. Any soil left on these parts of the oven may become burned on during the self-cleaning cycle.
  • Step 4Pull the broiler pan and grid, any utensils, and any tin foil that may have been left in the oven out of it. They can't withstand the extreme temperatures the self-cleaning oven will reach. It's okay to leave the oven racks in the oven.
  • Step 5Make sure the oven door is completely closed.
  • Step 6Press the "CLEAN" button on the control pad. Use the up and down arrows to select the desired cleaning time; use 2 hours for a lightly soiled oven and 3 or 4 hours for a dirtier oven. The oven will lock itself and begin the cleaning cycle.
  • Step 7Wait for the cycle to end and the oven to cool; it will then unlock itself automatically. Don't try to open the oven door before it has unlocked itself.

How does the self-clean feature work on a Frigidaire CFEF366EMB model?

    Hi Beverly,

I understand that you are looking to run your self-clean feature on your Frigidaire range, model# CFEF366EMB.

-To start this you will remove all racks and make sure that any excessive spillovers are cleaned up as best as you can.
-Next you will press the "Clean" button, and the display will show "---".
-Press the up or down arrows to select the length of time you want the oven to clean. Usually 2 or 3 hours.
-The door will automatically lock once your time has been chosen and the "LOCK" indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the door while the light is flashing. (it takes about 15 seconds for the oven door to lock).
-"Cln" will appear in the display during the self-clean cycle and the "LOCK" light will continue to glow until the self-cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled and the oven has cooled.

When the self-clean cycle has completed:
-The time of day or "END" will appear in the display window and the "Clean" and "LOCK" light will continue to glow.
-Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened.
-If "END" is in the display and the Clean indicator light remains ON, press the "CLEAR/OFF" button and the time of day will appear on the display.
-When the oven is cool, wipe away any residue or powdered ash with a damp cloth or paper towel.

    -Best Regards-

How do i operate the self cleaning function

Hello - Before using the self-cleaning cycle of the appliance, remove the broiler pan and any utensils stored in the appliance. Also remove any excess spillovers in the oven cavity. Allow the oven to cool before cleaning. During the self-cleaning cycle, the outside of the wall oven can become very hot to the touch.

Typically to set the controls for a self-clean the first step is to confirm that the clock shows the correct time of the day. Press CLEAN. "---" appears in the display. Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW once. "3:00" appears in the display for a 3 hour cycle. To change to a 2 hour cycle press DOWN ARROW"2:00" appears in the display. As soon as the controls are set, the motor drive lock will begin to close automatically and the "LOCK" indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the oven door while the light is flashing (it takes about 15 seconds for the over door to lock). "CLn" will appear in the display during the Self-Clean cycle and the "LOCK" light will glow until the Self-Cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled and the oven temperature has cooled.

When the Self-Clean cycle has completed, the time of the day or "End" will appear in the display window and the "Clean" and "LOCK" light will continue to glow. Once the over has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened. If "End" is the display and the Clean indicator light remains ON, press CLEAR/OFF. The time of the day will appear in the display.

If it becomes necessary to stop or interrupt a Self-Cleaning cycle, press CLEAR/OFF. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened. Restart the Self-Clean cycle once all conditions have been corrected.

The self cleaning instructions for my Frigidaire Gallery Pro Series Model FEB798WCCH do not inform how long to set timer. Any instructions would be helpful as I've never operated a self cleaning oven...

Hello- The function is automatic when clean button is pushed. Oven will lock, and turn on at full power for about 90 mins. This 'feature' can, and usually does eventually burn out circuits in the control board. Techs call this the 'self-destruct' option, cheerfully promoted by the salesman. Avoid using 'self clean'!  Scrape and clean with light soap/water. Turn on to 450deg. for about 30 min. This is about half the temp. of a 900deg. 'clean' cycle and a lot less expensive in the long run. Please acknowledge this post if info is helpful- have more if needed.- Thanks- Ed

My GE drop electric range will not turn on the self cleaning unit. I set the time and push start and it flashes clean oven, door lock, however, the door will not lock. I hear a clicking sounds, it beeps...

You will need to press the stop/cancel button, next press the self clean button, you do not have to set the time the cleaning cycle takes approx 3-1/2 to 4 hours and the cool down takes another 45 minutes to one hour, it will clean and cool down and you do not need to interrupt this cycle, it will let you know when it is complete.

I started my oven on ''clean'' -- how long should this take?

Whithout knowing the model number in general it takes several hours for the cleaning cycle. My oven takes approx. 4 hours to complete a good cleaning. On my own oven, you can set the timer for as long as you want. Do you have an owners manual? If not, you can find one here...........
