You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

SOURCE: greeting was somehow erased

Hi Sherrie, I am sorry to hear about your husband, I will do what I can to help. I am fairly confident on that model that if you push the greeting button, then delete it will erase the message for good. Also, if the memory power failed, then it would reset to the default greeting and erase all messages and greetings. However, if the unit has options for multiple greetings (ie. default greeting, greeting 1, greeting 2, etc., then perhaps the default greeting may have been selected, while your husbands greeting is still there but is recorded under say greeting number 1. If that is the case, you can select it to play his greeting instead of the default greeting to have it play. I would find out for you but my computer is having trouble opening the manual on the Panasonic site, so here is the link. Look under "greetings" in the index. Hope I helped. Thanks, CG http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTM150B.PDF

SOURCE: Panasonic Auto-Logic 2line syst dual standard cassette needs help

If the unit answers reliably but isn't recording, it probably just needs new cassettes, new drive belts and a good head cleaning. If you can find a service shop that works on cassette decks, they could probably look at the machine for you. These are the same things you need to do to a stereo deck occasionally.

On the other hand, if the machine is not picking up at all sometimes, there may be electronic problems and you might have to check Panasonic's website for service options. Parts availability for something this old could be an issue.

How to erase messages on land line Panasonic phone answering machine Model # KX-TG885SK ?

Do you want to erase all messages? Are you looking at the handset, the base or are you calling the KX-TG885SK remotely?

1) At the base, press Erase during playback of a message to delete the current message. To erase all messages from the base, press Erase twice when the phone system is in standby mode (no active calls/incoming calls).

2) From a handset, use the menu to access the Answering Device sub menu and choose play new message or play all messages. (Alternatively, press Menu # 3 2 3 to play new messages or Menu # 3 2 4 to play all messages.) During playback of a message, press * 4 or pause the message. After pausing the message, highlight Erase and press Select. Confirm this. To erase all messages, choose Erase All messages (Menu # 3 2 5) and follow the prompts to confirm (highlight Yes and press Select). You can also press * 5 to erase all messages from the Answering Device sub menu.

3) During a remote call, *4 and * 5 work as above when using the handset.

See pages 70, 71, and 74 in the operating manual. The manual is available on the Add-on Handset page: https://shop.panasonic.com/cordless-corded-telephones/telephone-handsets/KX-TGFA61B.html . The current link to the manual is http://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/KX-TG885SK/OI/TG885SK_PNQP1397ZA/TG885SK_PNQP1397ZA.pdf .

I hope this helps.

My answering machine is not picking up voice messages

Make sure the answering system is on. (You can use either the base Answer On button or Menu > Message Play (press Select) and then 8 on the handset.) Make sure the memory is not full; the unit can hold ~64 messages including the greeting. The base will show a flashing "Full" when the memory is full.

Finally make sure the system isn't set to "Greeting Only". From the handset, press Menu and navigate to "Initial Setting" then press the right arrow. Scroll to "Set answering" and again press the right arrow. Scroll to "Recording Time" and again press the right arrow. Select the choice you want either by scrolling or by pressing 1 through 3. If you press 0, you get Greeting Only. Press Save and then Off.

Please note that the unit's answering system is not compatible with Voice Mail service from your telephone line provider. You will need to have the Voice Mail disabled or leave the unit's answering system off.

The manual is available here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG2431.PDF for more information.

I hope this helps.

New voice mail

This is a cordless extention phone "its base station" must have a answering machine correct?

Well you need to check you messeages on that and clear them out on that and this phone would be cleared as well, if you do not have a base station with a answering machine or voicemail system then your phone company must have one and there sednign these messages down the line to indicate someone left a voice mail on the syste,

Ether or here you did not tell me about the rest of the system so I am cought assuming that is what it is because it is what it is somewhere down the line you have a voice mail ether on a home based system or your telephone company.

Thanks please do not forget to rate. Thanks

On my TG 2740 Panasonic base unit the 'answer on' light blinks constantly and 'all mail box full' is blinking also but there are only 17 messages. How do I clear the blinking light and the all mail box...

If mail box is full, you cannot record any more messages, and the answering machine is practically useless. You must clear some messages.
Try playing the messages one by one. While a message is being played hit the Erase button. If that works, repeat with every unimportant message.

Most cordless telephone answering machines have a maximum of 14 minutes recording time. You can restrict the length of messages people are allowed to leave. Most default options are 1min or 4 minutes. Some machines give you the option to select Announcement Only. When this option is selected people hear the announcement but cannot leave a message.

Read you manual for more configuration options.

Cannot clear message on handset that says I have a voice message.

I resolved the problem but I'm not 100% sure of how I did it. If it happens again I'll try it again. I left the answering machine OFF so the Voice Mail would take any messages. A friend phoned and left a message in the VOICE MAIL, I knew this because of the broken dial tone when I went to make a call. When I erased his message the 'New Voice Message' displayed on the handset disappeared. I figure a previous caller hung up just after the voice mail picked up. It was not long enough so it did not register in the voice mail but somehow registered on the GE phone. Since there wasn't anything registered in the VOICE MAIL to erase the message was 'stuck' on the handset display. As soon as there was a message registered in the VOICE MAIL that could be erased it also cleared the message on the handset.

As i mentioned, if it happens again I'll try it to see if it works, until then I am not going to tempt fate.

How do access my panasonic kx-tga101s voicmail ?

First of all; Do you have the user guide manual? If not you can download it for free at...www.static.tigerdirect.com/pdf/panasonic_kxtg10325_manual.pdf

This manual addresses handset kx-tga 101s.

The unit lets you know when you have new voice mail, in the following ways; "new voice mail" is displayed on the handset; The message indicator, on the handset, flashes slowly if message alert is on. In order to listen to your voice mail messages, you must dial the telephone service providers voice mail access number. If the handset still indicates messages that have been listened to turn it off by pressing and holding "CLEAR" until handset beeps.

Do you subscribe to a service package that includes voice mail? If so, to use that service turn off the answering machine; And use the instructions provided by your service provider. If you want to use the answering system, call your service provider to deactivate your voice mail service. If service provider cannot do this then set the answering system "RING COUNT" so the system answers calls before voice mail. Check with your service provider to find out what the ring count of the voice mail service is , then make the answering system ring count so it answers first.

Let me know if this answered your question.

Voice mail

An alternative to this problem, i've got ...possibly its a COMCAST feature..

Call your own number which will activate the ansering option for COMCAST and then u can read ur messages. This will ge the NEW VOICE MAIL message off ur handset.

In that case i find the answering machine of the phone useless and shouldnt have put money for the same.

Cordless Phone

You did record a message on the answerer, didn't you? Mine displayed that until I recorded the outgoing message for the answerer. You do not need any service from your phone provider. The answerer in the base unit simply records the caller's message when you don't answer after a set number of rings. The manual tells you how to name the handset, which is a nice feature if you don't wish to use "unit 1, unit 2, etc".
