Question about Pioneer DEH-27MP CD Receiver w/ MP3/WMA Playback

Unit does not power up

Installed a pioneer deh-27mp in a '92 nissan sentra. Twice. First one did not power up. Checked the power inputs and I have 12 from the accessory and 12 from the battery. These where measured arcoss the ground on the connector. Took the first one back. Put the second one in. No power. What am I missing? Doesn't have a power antenna so the blue/white is not hooked up.

This is the 2800MP direct from Pioneer. If your unit is a 2700mp, was it purchased outside the US? This is the closest listing on Pioneer USA's site. Hope this helps.

the yellow wire on the radio's harness must be connected to a 12 volt line that has power regardless of the key switch position, If not the radio loses its "Memory" every time you turn off the key

Pioneer DEH P3700MP CD reciever

Unless you are familiar with servicing them, it's risky, but can be done. Gently pry the top cover off. Remove four #1 philips screws from the CD mechanism. Gently lift out and unplug the ribbon cable connecting it to the motherboard. On the right side (as viewed from the front) there is a set of gears. These control the eject/intake motion. Start spinning (i can't remember which direction off the top of my head.).
