Question about HP Pavilion a1600n (882780776265) PC Desktop

Takes 15 mins to boot after loading Micro trend

Installed Micro trend on the HP Pavilion a1600n, after it connected to the internet to download updates, it boots to the blue screen with the options of

boot(esc)
F1 setup
F10 recovery

I was able to get it to go into the boot menu and I selected CD for first boot option, then after this I discovered if you waited, it would finally boot.
Today I cut it on, I selected F1, then left it for awhile to see if it would go into the bios, but now it won't boot at all, I get a black screen. I have booted it numerous times, even tried to boot from a bootable CD.

All this happened after loading Micro Trend PC Chillin version 2007

can't get it to to boot to any screen. recovery option does not respond, now I only get a black screen at boot up. I have not been able to boot into safe mode, no key strokes seem to respond. Before it would just sit at the screen with the options I listed and would not respond to F1 or F10. It did one time respond to esc, then I set it to boot from the CD first then the hard drive. Now I only get to the black screen, it's almost as if the hard drive is died.

The CD rom drive flashes, the the hard drive flashes, but that it. Then no response from the drive and a black screen.

By the way, this is not my computer, so I am really frustrated, it's my room mates, I added her to my wireless then added the Micro Trend, then now it doesn't work at all. Thanks for your suggestions. do you have anymore ideas?

You have too much at startup. thats the programs the computer starts at boot up.i would go to last good configuration and see what happens if that works i would seriously get rid of some programs you don't need and defrag your computer.

Did a recovery but computers still running slow. I would like to try a reinsall what do I got to do. to preform this. HP Pavilion Media Center a1600n

Running slowly could be a lot of things. It could be you don't have enough physical memory (RAM) in your computer to do what you want. Less than 1 or 2 GB might be seen as slow. If you really want to reinstall Windows, back up all the files you want to save to someplace else, like an external hard drive or thumb drive. You will have to reinstall all your programs (Office, etc) after you reinstall Windows. Take the CD copy of Windows that came with your computer and boot your computer to that. You may have to change the boot order by entering Setup (usually by pressing F2 when it starts). Make sure the CD drive is first in Boot Order. When you boot to the CD follow the instructions for installing Windows in the screens which follow. Delete any existing partitions and install it on a clean partition.
Good luck!

Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit and No Internet

It sounds to me like you need a new driver for the LAN adapter that is compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. Right click on Computer under the start menu, chose manage, and open the Device Manager applet. Look for your network card under Network adapters. Right click on your adapter and click on properties. Go to the driver tab and click on update driver. You can also try uninstalling the driver from there and then have the computer scan of new hardware from the device manager screen and let Windows reinstall the driver. Let me know what you find so I can help you further troubleshoot if this does not fix the problem.

k when the computer first boots up hit f8 or shift f8 to get to advance options . move arrows to last known good configuration. if that fails to get you on desk top you will most likely need to call hp and get replacement disks to reinstall the missing or currupted drivers. your NTloader is not reading from your master boot record that is why your getting this.
