SOURCE: Screen Size

When you are using the DVI connection on this unit it will automatically set the aspect ratio. There is no way to force it into stretching the picture as it will with other input sources. The only way to get to fullscreen would be to go into the setup menu on your cable box and set the "4:3 override" option to one that will meet your satisfaction. I'm having issues with this one skewing the picture to the left on DVI input. I'll crack it open one of these days to see if there are some adjustments that I can mess with on the inside. If there is anything further I figure out, I'll repost.

SOURCE: I have an RCA Scenium HD DLP 50" TV Rear

What is the Model Number that is printed on back of TV?
You say TV is DLP ,but you are posting Model# HD52W59 that is for Projection that has 3 Tubes Red/Green/Blue Tubes.
If TV is DLP then problem will be the Color Wheel
If it is Projection then it has a coil on the deflection board that either needs to be replaced or
resolder ciol and take a Glue gun and glue over the top of coil. Coil LL037 on the right handside of the FBT flyback transfomer.

My Vizio LCD HDTV 32in. doesn't seem to "center" the picture on sports programs so when they have a score box in the upper left corner most of it is cut off and can't be seen. Doesn't matter how I adjust...

This is a common complaint. To be frank I don't have the exact term for your Vizio, but most recent LCD and plasma TVs have the ability to "zoom" or adjust "picture format" (those are two commonly used terms) depending on the signal source and format.

it has to do with the fact that currently there are both classic style format 4:3 signal sources as well as new HD 16:9 signal sources and on top of that it may happen that a 4:3 signal source is distributing adjusted image from a 16:9 or other signal source. Think cinema adjusted to run on classic TV - remember the vertical strip of image with two huge black areas below and above it?

Well the ZOOM or PICTURE FORMAT allows to adjust such an image so that you cut the "void" are by scalling (enlarging) the visible area to fit the whole screen.

A problem then appears when the signal source is normal and showing full screen. Then, because of the enlargement, you start missing some of the picture. Before there was nothing there because it was showing adjusted wide (cinema) format to the TV box format, but when the new TV box format gets enlarged it sure starts missing around the edges.

That's what you're seeing.

More and more TVs do not have the ability to adjust that through the TV itself. Don't ask me why, but they can only do it through the remote.

So if you have an original remote there MUST be a button there that's called ZOOM or FORMAT.

It does the trick.

Hope this helps. If it does do not forget to rate it.

Cheers,

Good evening, I've gone through the manual and I can't get my TV to show 100hz (always 50hz), also on some channels I cannot get the picture to fit the screen (it's 32''). Any help would be greatly...

Well, first the 100Hz issue. Your TV will display a descriptor or the signal it is receiving, not a descriptor of the picture you are watching. Your TV panel has a native resolution and frequency. In your case, that frequency is 100Hz. Everything, like it or not, must be converted to 100Hz for the TV to work. In your manual, you are simply adjusting setting which smooth the picture and make it flow better than it would at 50Hz. This feature is slight of hand and is probably working just fine. As for the picture fitting the screen; HD programs fill the screen of HD channels.... SD (Standard Definition) programs use black bars on each side when on HD channels. You can use any available wide or picture size feature your TV may have to stretch the picture. You may be unable to stretch the picture, due to restrictions (some TVs will not resize HD formats).

Some of the channels are too big to fit on the screen. How do I fix that?

It is a formatting issue. Look either on the remote control or in the user menu for an option called ASPECT or FORMAT. Adjust these until the optimal setting is achieved.

If you are useing a cable box or satelight rec. Check the format that you have it adjusted to. If not adjuste the format of the tv. If that does not fix it, it will need to be adjusted by a tech.
