make sure that "plus rw" is allowed to be used (dvd+rw). My DC330 requires "minus rw" (dvd-rw).
(You'd think the gurus would differentiate their specs better, no?)
Also, I just learned today that the charger needs to be plugged into to be able to finalize a disk. Found the answer in a review on Amazon, rather than in the manual. That's an hour of my life I'd like to get back.
The DC210 will only work with with Mini DVD -R or -RW. I had the same problem when the BestBuy salesman sold me +RW Mini DVD with the DC210. I went back to the store and got them changed for +RW and I was then able to use the DC210.
This is a problem with the DVD Writer model.
SONY DVD RW AW-G170a has problems reading DVD+/- R/RW Discs.
But there is no problem with any of the DVD+/- R/RW Dual Layer, DVD Ram or CD+/- R/RW Discs.
It is the reason that this DVD Writer lacks the correct bitsetting for DVD+/- R/RW Discs.
There is nothing else you could do other than replacing the wirter with some other model.
some dvd brands dont work with all dvd writers, so your option is to try another make, if that works ok then it's not a writer fault it is just that the media make is not compatable.
if you start to see problems with all makes of disc then the writer laser is faulty and a replacement drive neccasary.
