Kingston Data Traveler 2.0 64 GB USB - file system corrupted - need to work on windows XP- Upon formatting the pen drive It shows that it has become a raw drive - wat is the file format for the USB to work...

Theoretically, you can't format a more than 32 GB drive with FAT/FAT32 file system. In your case you have to choose the NTFS file system to format your 64 GB USB flash drive. However, if you really need to format it with FAT32, you got to use the command line or a third party tool. Hope this is going to help you.

My kingston data traveler 2.0 is not working.. when i plug it to the computer it tells that the computer doesnt recognize it. i tried to update the driver but nothing is working.. My computer is Windows XP...

May wish to try the following:

1. Use another USB port on same computer
2. Shut down computer, turn-on computer, wait for computer to finish booting up, then plug back-in
3. Use another computer

If the above fail, then it may be the data traveler itself.
When these USB storage devices are unplugged from computers, and NOT safely removed, the USB device becomes unusable.

I have a Kingston Data Traveler 2GB, but I can't acces to my files. I need the proper driver, where can I get it for free

If you are using XP, Vista, Win 7, ya DO NOT need a driver, as such, the system will install a "Generic" driver, & "It" should show up as a "Drive". If it doesn't, try totally removing ALL USB from Device Manager, and reboot. If it still don't work, then I am afraid it may be kaput.

Will not run xp pro i'm stuck in 2000 mode mother board is ak77 pro 133 vt8233 will not run xp pro i've been told im pretty much sol. Is this true?

If you have a valid Win XP Pro CD and want to install the operating system you'll need to format your hard disk drive. If you have allot of data on you're hard disk drive, (In Win 2000) Suggest you create a second partition within the free space of you're hdd and install windows XP Pro. Boot you're system with the XP CD. Pay close attention to the display screens. Follow the instructions for creating a second partition.
Format the new partition. (Quick). Install windows XP on the new partition. Once completed you can copy your personal data to win XP.
If you choose to keep the win 2000 partition and you do not wish to have a dual boot system than remove/delete the root files from the 2000 partition. These files; Autoexec.bat and Boot.ini. You're new XP Boot.ini should read like this;
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /usepmtimer
Once you're satisfied an no longer need win 2000 use windows diskmgmt.msc from the run command to delete the win 2000 partition.
Win 2000 uses a FAT16 where Win XP uses the FAT NTFS.

Cheers!
Mike
