My 46" Panasonic Vierra turns on, but it only says HDMI 1, does not give a picture. I hooked my cable box to an old tv and it works. Could it just be my HDMI cable?
If you have used the same cable in the old TV, the cable is not the cause. Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

This sounds like the main power board went bad. If this is still under warranty, contact 1-877-MYVIZIO and they will have it repaired for you. if not, let me know and I will guide you to the right part.
SOURCE: Need help hooking up TV, BluRay, Home Theatre & cable box
I found that since the Panasonic TH50PZ80U TV has only 2 HDMI ports on the back of the TV, the best solution for me was to use component (red, blue, green) cables to connect the Home Theatre to the TV. I suppose I/you could connect the home theatre to the HDMI port on the front panel, but I don't want cables hanging out the front of the TV (personal preference). Unfortunately, I am no longer able to use the VIERA Link functionality available by connecting all Panasonic components to each other using HDMI cables, but I feel it's a small price to pay for the incredible picture quality acheived by using the HDMI cable to connect the HD Cable Box to the TV. I may yet be able to control everything using the HD Cable Box remote, but I haven't gotten that far yet but I've got Comcast coming on Saturday and hopefully they can let me know if this is possible: let me know if you have a solution.
So here are the components and the cable types used to connect:
I hope this helps someone else.

The way to solve the problem with the TH-50PZ80U blinking light problem is to not buy Panasonic Products. I have had my TV about 21 months and it has started with the blinking light problem, just out of warranty. Panasonic is aware of this problem and refuses to do recall or fix the tv unless you are within the warranty or have bought the extended warranty. Legally they are within their rights, but I am also within my rights to air my complaint and inform others of this below par product. Who wants a TV that they have to unplug for a while and pug it in again for it to work. I want to push the power button and it come's on. I will never purchase another PANASONIC PRODUCT.
SOURCE: i cannot get a picture on the screen of my tv. I
Hi
Firstly and would remove all the leads from your TV and check them. If after checking your HDMI leads etc... and its still the same then i would reset the TV to the original Samsung settings. This is completed on your remote control by the following........
Turn your tv to standby, on the remote when in standby press the keys on the remote in the following order........ INFO.........MENU..........MUTE.........POWER ON.
You will now notice the picture comes on with the engineers settings in the background. With the direction keys on the remote scroll down to number 12 (RESET) Then press OK or the right direction key, Your tv will switch off and load the Samsung factory settings. Switch the TV back on and go through the setup procedure.Once completed then try your HDMI again.
If it is still failing then there is a strong possibility that your Eeprom IC on your main AV Board is corrupt and needs replacing. This should only be attempted if you have good soldering skills as they are Surface mounted and very small.
My advise if your skills are not that good is just to replace the main AV board (Scart Board) these usually sell for around £50 but WILL solve your problem.
I have gone trough everything i know here that would cure the fault, most times one of the above three will cure this, but im afraid other times its just time for a new AV board.
Hope iv helped some people out here.
Any comments or thumbs up appreciated.
