Question about Sony VAIO PCV-RS530G PC Desktop
The whole computer seemed to go down yesterday and not due to a virus - I can't open the Recovery Wizard nor does RESTORE work - I only get a white screen - I can't even print now and I work from home and I have to have a working computer.
I really need help - I spent hours working on it and even called a Tech site which cost 77 $ that I'm pretty upset I had to spend because nothing works.
I can get online but cannot click links - nor does my search function work -
basically I want it back to original factory state -
can you please help me do this ?
I have no recovery disks - I moved and can't seem to find them.
First get the trogen, malware or virus out, it is more than likelly causing the problem. Make sure you have a good virus program, I had one similar and most virus programs won't take it out or even show some of the latest bugs. Tech support is a waste of time for the most part, was your restore turned off?, Boot into safe mode, and run a spybot search and destroy, and AVG- free virus program that you can get on their site and download the program perhaps with another machine. Otherwise there are "DOS" commands that you can try, it could be the MBR, a corrupted file,or many other things. But if it happened suddenlly, chances are some kind of bug got in, you also are going to need a bootable Operating System Disk if this stuff dosen't work. good luck
