Question about Computers & Internet
I installed Windows XP Pro SP2 on Lenovo X200 laptop
After joining the X200 to the company domain, Itry to login using domain credentails. I get "account not found" message. I just got a new T500 and the Fingerprint software was working fine, but the system was set-up with the incorrect username. When I changed the username I now get "Account not found" everytime I used the Fingerprint login. I can type in the username and password just fine and get in.
If it is a copy, and not genuine, it won't work. It is impossible to make an exact copy of Microsoft product CDs. They detect it. Also, if you do install it, you cannot use it without any limitations.
So be legal and search for an old XP CD. It is out of sale now, until stocks last, but it went out 6 months ago.
You can buy and install the superb new Vista or even buy and download it safely from the Microsoft website.

That happens because the BIOS uses a SATA controller that is not included in Windows XP install disk.
Usually you can solve the problem going to BIOS settings and changing SATA/RAID settings.Check your BIOS settings, and disable SATA RAID mode. This is done in different ways depending on the BIOS.
On HP/Compaq computers for example you press F2 on startup to enter BIOS, then disable SATA mode on bios settings.
On other makes the procedure can be slightly different.
Another way to fix the problem, is by creating your own XP setup disk with SATA drivers included, see: Resolving "Setup did not find any hard disk drives" during Windows .
