Question about Aiwa VX-S205 Combo

1 Answer

Remote control codes

I lost my remote control for this tv a long time ago. I bought a new device that can issue all types of infrared commands. Is it possible to get the hexadecimal codes that are sent by the remote that comes with this device so I can use them to program my new device and turn the tv on/off without getting up from my couch! Does anyone know where I can find the hex IR codes for this tv/vcr combo from Aiwa?

    Noggin,

    I'm not using a "Universal Remote." I'm using a computer and a Adicon Ocelot/SECU16-IR to send the infrared codes. Therefore, I need the hexadecimal representation of the IR codes that are sent by the remote. An example would be:
    "5000 0000 0000 0001 0010 007B"

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    here is the link to the manual for the SECU-16 if you need it (pretty useless);
    http://www.appdig.com/adicon_new/secu16i...

    and here for the ocelot (much more detailed);
    http://www.appdig.com/manual/Ocelot-2.pd...

    check page 54 - learning IR control codes

    it may help you out, but I think you need to get a new remote or a universal working with your tv before you can get the ocelot to learn the codes.

    Sorry no luck with any hex codes yet, best i could find was this site;
    http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/cod...

    The have a lot listed but not the ones you need i think, but they have a message forum where you might get some luck.

    unfortunately no real help, but hopefully the forum will pass your problem the way of someone with a list, post again here and you may get lucky with someone else also.

    Hope it helps a bit

    :)

LG 52LG50 TV remote stopped working

If the standby light on the TV blinks, as any remote control handset is pressed, means, the circuit between infrared sensor inside the TV and main system control section has the fault. If infrared sensor inside your TV were faulty, this will not happen. Here infrared sensor inside the TV and remote control, are working properly.
the fault is with the main system control circuit itself. To make this more confirm, just replace the infrared sensor inside your TV. It is an easy to get component, and won't cost more too. It can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops at your town. There are so many types of infrared sensors are there in the market. You have to make sure, which type is used in your TV. This part can be located just behind the infrared sensor window at the front panel of the TV. In fact, you have to open the TV to access it, as it will be directly soldered to the front panel control circuit board. For your reference, I hereby includes the images of some types of it. Just see, it is a three solder terminal component, easy to get, and easy to fit. If the fault still occur even after replacing this component, surely the main system control IC and its memory IC section circuit should be troubleshooted. This is really a skilled work.

Infrared sensors inside TVs can be damaged at any time. They are cheap to buy, and easy to install.

Check this site for more details. "Electro-help" is the site name. Search it by google search. You can locate it, either at the bottom of the first search page, or at the top of the second. It is an electronics equipments repair help site in English.

Check your remote control for its proper working first. Then think of the remote sensor inside your TV. To get more details about how to check remote control, click this link.
If remote control is Ok, replace the infrared sensor, which can be located just behind the infrared sensor window of your Tv. You have to open your TV, and desolder it out and solder a new one in position. The infrared sensor will look like these. There are sevieral types, and just confirm which type is used in your TV. Picures of some types are attached.

Remote to tv doesn't work

Hello
Check the remote first for its infrared emission. If it is OK, the infrared sensor inside your tV is faulty. It should be replaced with same type and number. It can be located just behind the infrared window at the front panel of your Tv. You ahve to open your TV ot access it. It will have three solder terminals, and will look somehat brownish black in colour. Will look like this.

You don't say if the problem occurs ONLY when using the remote. It is not that unusual for one device to react to commands intended for another or for other Infrared source in the vicinity to confuse a device. This is one reason I never use ANY remotes in the room when I'm doing anything critical like recording.

If it shuts off when you walk over and actually touch the unit's controls to make the changes there would definitely NOT be a remote issue.

It could also be possible that the selected switching is causing a high amplitude audio transient and the receiver is self-protecting. Try it at mimimum volume and see if that changes anything.

T.v. does not respond to remote control, but does work maually from side buttons

Turn tv on manually.Test the remote control all functions are dead or some functions work other don't?Tries take the remote control parts and clean the inner rubbers buttons between the rubbers insulater and the remote circuitries board and the battery connections + - connections with some rubbing alchahol.Then wait awhile like 20 mins and putting it back together again and putting in new battery in the remote,it might work again.If getting the same result than the remote CPU chip is probally dead,remote control devices are very depended on it CPU chip.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an original remote for the replacement.

Intermittently Working Correctly with DirecTv

Update your Harmony remote control software on your PC to the latest. Go into the TV device settings. The software should recognize if there is an update to your TV's IR commands. Try the same things with the DVR.

It's also possible the TV and/or DVR are locking up due to IR commands that are being sent too quickly. The remote has a setting for the delay between commands sent to the same device as well as the delay between commands sent to different devices. Try adjusting these settings:
  1. In the Harmony remote software on your PC, click the "Devices" tab.
  2. For the "TV" device, click the "Settings" button.
  3. Click the dot next to "Adjust the delays" and click Next.
  4. Adjust the "Inter-key" and "Inter-device" delays to something higher and click Next.
  5. Follow the steps to save the changes.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for your DVR device as well.
