Can't install new zune software. claims that up to date software already exists. i have deleted all the old software. (to my knowledge)

All software could be deleted but the device is not properly formatted. For this kind of concern, we can only trust the manufacturer.

I would suggest to contact the manufacturer and have them reprogram the device for you. They are the only one who knows the version of program that would work best with your device.

Good luck and have a great day ahead!

What should i do if the back button on my zune 4gb stopped working?

Ok, I used to have this problem when I used to have a Zune 4GB. So what I did was look online what the problem is and I found out that it was a mechanical problem, and it only could be fixed by sending it in to Microsoft and writing a claim for your problem. Then they would fix it. But if your under warranty don't even send it in, they will charge you way to much money to fix the problem. But how I dealt with the situation was to put it on shuffle or I would (when its on) hold play/pause, lock it then unlock it and it was back to the main menu.

I can't add songs to my zune player

More information on Zune related issues can be found at the Zune website:
http://www.zune.net/en-US/support/default.htm

There are many problems that can occur if you cannot upload songs to your Zune.
Is your zune plugged in via USB to your computer?
Is your zune ON?
Does the Zune software recognize that the Zune player is plugged in?
You can also go to your account settings in the Zune software and set it to where your music files are stored so it adds them.
If you have the Zune pass, try and download songs and then SYNC the software and player (little sync icon on the bottom left of the program).
Again, there are multiple reasons and cases on why you could be having problems. Please goto the Zune link for support and read through their faq's to assist you. If you still have problems, reply with a more detailed problem.

Zune program deleting songs from device without permission

You can go to device options and tell the software to just let you choose what to sync, it should not auto delete anything after that...

If you sync manually you should have no problems.

I don't understand Microsoft's motive for auto-deletion on this program... but whatever...

Deleting movie when connect to charge

It will delete the stuff because it is monitoring those folders for content. When the content disappears then Zune assumes you no longer want it.

Try this-in the Zune program set it to not autosync. See if that stops it. It worked when I tried it with videos but not when I tried it with music.

Otherwise be prepared to keep all of the music and movies in the folders that Zune monitors.

If space on your computer is an issure, I would suggest adding an external drive.

PC will not detect my zune.

Hey!! I just fixed mine! I had recently installed drivers for a PS3 controller, and for some reason those were conflicting with the Zune.

To fix it, I went to add/remove programs, and then removed the libusb program, that fixed it instantly! Good luck!
