My kenmore upright just blows dirt around. It has no suction at all. It worked fine and then started this problem.

It has a blockage - you will have to find it - probably in hose leading away from roller

My vax power 8, 2200 watts 300 air watts 4L capacity upright Hoover is brand new, I emptied out the dust/dirt collecter and cleaned the motor filter yesterday for the first time, i switched it on and all...

I had the same problem. It looks like the seal on the lid on the bottom of the cylinder has fallen out when it was emptied. There is no longer a proper vacuum being created so you don't get the cyclone effect and the dirt doesn't collect where its supposed to. it just clogs up the filter. I put sellotape to seal the lid and it works fine.

Seems to **** up the dirt/dust and simply blow it out instead of capturing it inside

Most of these have an suction hose and a blow port. One blows air, one sucks air. Make sure the suction hose is on the correct port. Also, a dirty air filter will cause the same effects. The filter must be good to prevent the dirt and dust being blow around.

My vacuum blows dust all over!

The cause of your problem is a blockage in the suction path, check the foot and the hose. remove the blockage and you will be fine.

Check the inlet where the dirt is first sucked in for a clog, also your hose may be clogged.

Dirt devil mvp not sucking

Could be bad filters, is there suction at the end of the hose. That will tell you which direction to start looking. If no suction at hose end, then filters could be the problem. If you have suction, then the problem is down lower, dirt inlet is clogged, if belt has never been changed, then I am sure it has stretch to the point that under load it doesn't turn like it should. Could even be that although the motor is running, it may be running at a slower speed, in which case it would have to be replaced.

My dirt devil vacuum won't suck up anything and its brand new!!

Take the vac bag off and turn on the vac , it should blow air out, if not unclogg the hose where the bag connects, also when you check the roller and belt, unclog the flex hose(located inside base near roller assembly) that sucks up the dirt. As long as the motor works fine the rest is just maint.
