THE REVS ARE TOO HIGH WHEN COLD AND DONOT DECREASE WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO CHANGE GEAR, WHEN THE CAR HAS HEATED UP ITS FINE JUST WHEN COLD.....PLEASE HELP ITS A 2003 AVENIS AURA( OLD MODEL)
when its first started the revs are up at 1500-2000 but go down when driving till you try and change gear then they shoot to 3000 when you put you're foot on the clutch, but as I said when the car is up to normal running temperature its fine...when its first started the revs are up at 1500-2000 but go down when driving till you try and change gear then they shoot to 3000 when you put you're foot on the clutch, but as I said when the car is up to normal running temperature its fine...
I HAVE NO IDEA OF THE TEMPS WHERE U ARE, ALSO IS THE CAR REACHING FULL OPERATING ENGINE TEMP, MAYBE THE THERMOSTAT IS OPENING TO QUICKLY, BUT THE RPM YOU CITED IS NOT HIGH AT START, U COULD REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT AND TRY THAT.I HAVE NO IDEA OF THE TEMPS WHERE U ARE, ALSO IS THE CAR REACHING FULL OPERATING ENGINE TEMP, MAYBE THE THERMOSTAT IS OPENING TO QUICKLY, BUT THE RPM YOU CITED IS NOT HIGH AT START, U COULD REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT AND TRY THAT.
High RPM is by purpose. Reason is to get engine hot as quickly as possible to reduce emissions. There is nothing to worry about. I am sure if engine is warm/hot then you wont see high RPM even if you resart it.

I would consider changing the vehicle speed sensor. When they go bad, they can really throw out a lot of bad data to the computer, resulting in unexpected behavior like you're experiencing. They're only around $20-$25. I hope this helps! :)
1. Transmission fluid level
2. Engine idling rpm
3. Accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor
4. Line pressure test AT-66, "Line Pressure Test"
5. Line pressure solenoid valve
6. Control valve assembly
7. Transmission control cable, if any.
8. Short circuit in wiring harness.
when vw started to use the computer controlled gearbox system a criticism was the shift was very harsh,to counter this they made it rev slightly before changing.so that you know the system, try this out....without touching the gas.....put it in d and let the car accelerate to its max speed, stop, then use 1/3rd of gas (keep your foot still)and let it do the same...stop,then,if safe, put your foot to the floor, hard, notice when the car changes gear(revs/speed)then if you drive, only using the first1/3rd of the gas,the cars change pattern will alter to suit.......wierd it is.....
You need to check the cable the runs from the gas pedal to the engine, it might be rusty and need some drops of penetrating oil at the point it meets with the engine accelerator valve.
This is a very common problem for ford. I have the same thing every day. It is the computer not reading the temp. When it does that just tap the gas pedal.
The grinding sound may be a throw out bearing or the pilot bearing. The sticking throttle problem sounds like a linkage or cable binding up from possibly damage due to the impact from the accident.
