Question about Denon AVR-1600 Receiver

1 Answer

Denon Receiver AVR-1600

I am trying to find a good FM antenna for this unit. The one supplied with the unit only picks up a couple of stations. The community I live in does not allow outside antennas. I took the factory supplied wire antenna to Radio Shack but the sales guy said he had never seen one with that type fitting.

Does anyone know of a good affordable indoor antenna that will work with this unit?

Thanks,
Jim from South Carolina

Seeing as you can't put an aerial outside, can you put one in the loft space, if you have one. You could use a standard FM aerial. It wouldn't be as good as mounting it outside, but it would give you better results then a wire.

Here are the links for the manual. I've lost my remote as well. I can't get my unit to recognize the digital audio input (optical). Very frusturating.

Hi Jim,
I tried connecting my dvr via component and optical to see if it was my hdmi or my dvr. Ended up being a bad hdmi plug in back of my amp. I was fortunate enough to have both style connections on my dvr. Hope this helps

it's obviously getting interferance fronm that whole house broadcast unit (not abnormal!) best and only thing you can do is to move the stereo to a place where you can get the MOST am stations the loop ant. is exactly what it says it is a loop of wire with two ends..both ends connect to the ant. input on the back of the unit..however if that whole house broadcast unit is the devil then an ant. no matter what or how it's made will only recieve more static not built to reject static! so you've got to move it unfortunately ..fm is a totally different band obviously fm isn't being affected by that whole home broadcast unit..you're lucky! on that count

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONNECT MY SPEAKERS AND I HAVE BUT THE TV IS NOT BEING PICKED UP BY THE RECEIVER. DENON AVR 1800.

Have you looked at the manuals for the Denon and the TV?

TV is a visual output, not an audio source, unless you tune stations through its antenna.

Can't find a radio frequency

check if the antenna is connected right. I assume it is FM. If AM and SW there are different antennas. Make sure the ends of the antenna connecting to the receiver unit is stripped. Best of luck
