Whirlpool Washer Completes 1 Cycle then won't fill

I have a whirlpool washer that will complete one full cycle, then it will not fill. When you start the washer it goes right into the agitation, but no water at all. If I allow the washer to sit overnight, I can do another load the next morning, but then the same issue occurs

Thanks Barkencoa, I will give this a shot as soon as I get home. I recently had to replace a lid switch on the washer, perhaps I pinced or kinked that hose. I am very aware of the hose you are referring to. Once I verified it, I will post again.

    Thanks!

This was great advice, although I have not fixed the problem completely, I am in the right direction. Is there a way to pull off the pressure chamber to check that for blockage? I was able to make sure there was nothing blocking the hose, but I did not see how to pull the chamber off. Thanks for your help, this was GREAT information!!!!

Sounds like you have sticking water level switch, due to possible blockage in the pressure chamber or pressure chamber hose..
You need to check the pressure chamber and the small hose that is attached to it for a blockage,. This problem will cause all of the symptoms you have described.. When it is stood for a while that is why it will work, the pressure releases and the switch will work until the pressure builds up and then it sticks again. The pressure chamber hose goes up to the water level switch

Have a Whirlpool Super Capacity washer in which the drum will tilt during the wash cycle and spill water. If held to center, there is no leak, and the cycle completes without difficulty.

Could you tell me what the life expectancy for this washer might be and does it have a good track record. (Mom gave me one) Whirlpool Super Capacity Plus 7-Cycle 2-speed. 3.2 cu. ft

Whirlpool utlra care II clothes washer shuts off when filling - push knob in and pull out it starts again - once full it completes remaings cycles

Hi, the water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

Bad noise at begining of rinse cycle.

It sounds like your gear case (transmission) has gone bad. If the washer fills and agitates that tells me that the problem cannot be with the motor coupling and drive motor. It also rules out a pump problem if the washer completes a wash cycle and drains properly. The only thing left is the gears inside the transmission. Sometimes they go bad in a way that portions of the wash will work while others don't. The part number is 3360629 and the price usually runs about $150. I hope this may help you in some way.

After spin cycle washer stops abrubtly causing it to shift.

You have dragging brake shoes. This will cause the motor to draw excessive current. Nedd to take apart and pull down spin tube to access the brake shoes
