My asus notebook PC turns on and goes onto the asus loading screen but then goes blank!

Don't boot on the battery. Plug into wall outlet and try it. Your battery might have croaked or your charger is dead.

If that fails, when booting, tap the F8 key several times. This will take you to a diagnostic screen. Try a couple different options there like "safe mode" and "last good combination that worked."

Why Dell inspiron 6400 LCD screen goes blank when I unplug the ac adapter from laptop?

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. As the computer boots, press <F12>
  3. when the Dell Splash Screen appears.
  4. At the One Time Boot menu, press the <Down> arrow key to highlight Diagnostics and press <enter>
  5. A graphical menu listing all discovered devices in the system is now displayed and the express diagnostics should run (Takes about 4 minutes).
This will test the hardware on your computer.
I am thinking it could be the battery but this is just to be sure.

Tablet comes on but wiil not boot up screen stays on Sylvania

It's your Bios, it may need to be reflashed to factory default. If it goes into a blank screen and say something else like boot device not found/ operating system not found, then it's something with your harddrive. If not, your bios and ram are not cooperating with each other. Bios needs to be reset to see if it works.

I have upgraded my tc1100 to 1.5Gs of memory. The description on the memory module is ( Super * Talent D400SBG/H STT DDR-400 PC3200 SO-DIMM Hynix 1G/64X8). The problem is the computer initially boots into...

It sounds like that memory should be compatible with your tablet PC. It may be a bad memory stick -- try to replace it with a different memory stick (preferably from a different manufacturer) and see if it still gives you the same problem.
If you didn't have this problem before you installed the new memory, a different memory stick will likely correct the issue. You can also try removing the new memory and see if the PC boots up like it should.

the pc is standing at command prompt, which means it is unable to find the boot.ini file required to boot into windows

When you say you pressed F8 did you keep pressing it until you got a menu saying Safe Mode, last known good configuration, start in VGA mode etc, if so use last known good configuration and let it reboot.

If still nothing then you will need the windows cd to perform a system repair.

Computer will seem to start, but

if the screen comes up and goes blank again,

1.Remove and replace your RAM with a known good RAM to test with, if it persist or continue, then

2.repair your operating system by re-updating it,this will help it to recover from the missing files

Is this on a notebook or on your regular PC?The answer will determine what the solution is. You can first check to see if the little pins on the plug are all straight and none are bent or broken. If one of he pins is bent then you can try gently straighten it (unplug the monitor from the wall first) If any of the pins are broken then either the cable needs to be replaced or the monior has to be replaced.
