Most routers have a gateway login that you access via your browser to set the WEP password. Start with the manual. The default login and password is root and (blank). When you obtain a DHCP, the gateway is shown. Again, its default is 192.168.11.1.

Needed my password awhile back and I simply called technical support. They walked me through how to go find it. Unfortunately I can't remember now but calling the number was simple. I did it late at night when the wait was not long at all, less than 2 minutes.http://www.buffalotech.com/support/downloads/

SOURCE: WEP key recovery

Connect a computer to the router via Ethernet cable, then you should be able to log into the router to set it up by opening a web browser and putting "http://192.168.1.1/" or "http://192.168.0.1/" (without the quotes) into the address line. The default username and password is usually "admin" and "admin" or username "admin" with no password. From there you should be able to configure the router and retrieve or change the WEP key.

if you lost it your out of luck. Hold the reset button on the back of the router for 10 seconds to reset to factory and then you can reset up the wep key with a new one.

Lost my key number

Connect your computer to the router via Ethernet cable. In that way, you will see the WEP key assigned in your Router's GUI/page. You will see it in the Wireless section of the Router. Once you get the WEP key, enter it to the new PC to gain access to the Wireless connection.

I have a netgear wireless router, I also have a new PS3, I want to access the internet via the PS3 but have lost my WEP key for the router. Whats the easiest way of finding the WEP key Thanks Darren

wep key or router administrative password?
if you have router admin password, you just go to your router settings and reset, delete all WEP key setting
(i assume one that connect to your router is only the PS3)
The setting should be web-based.
connect a pc to your router using LAN/ethernet port.
Access the router (you should know the router
ip address) via IE ex: http://192.168.0.1/
Read your router manual for details.

I lost the instillation CD and need the wep code

The WEP code is whatever you make it when you set up the wireless connection. If you have lost this key. It is best to use the manual reset located on your wireless router. Will require a small point like a paperclip. Then you will have to access the router and set up the wireless internet over again. Then you can secure it with a new WEP key.
If you need further assistance please ask me.
Thanks,
Lee
