You can try recalibrating unit. With your dial setting at the 12 o'clock position on the timer, you want to do these steps within 7 seconds. Turn timer knob left one time, 3 rights, one left, one right.
Then you will see all the lights blink. ( no time constraints after you see lights blink) Turn the knob 4 clicks to the right, then push the start button. Let it run until you hear the lid unlock and you see the done light lit up. When you replaced the timer, you needed to recalibrate the unit.
Move the timer on up to the spin cycle and see if it spins. If it doesn't spin and it is a top loader that uses a belt to turn the agitator and the tub for spinning, then more than likely your belt is broken or slipping. If you hear the motor turning and nothing is happening it's likely the belt.
Hi! My Simpson Esprit 750 washing machine won't click over to the next stage in the cycle. All of the stages work if you turn the dial manually so I am wondering if it may be the timer that needs replacing? I can't hear it in operation. Thanks.
What to check next is the water inlet valve. To do it, turn on the machine and start the filling cycle. If you cannot hear a faint buzzing or humming noise from the water inlet valve, the solenoid coil is not getting any power. Check it's wiring. If you can hear some noise, you need to replace it. Make sure to unplug the unit before doing any service.
check the lid switch by putting a screwdriver into the lid switch hole; look at your timer duration diagram it's in the control panel a small sheet of paper taped inside Does you machine not advance mark the timer knob and, see how far the knob advances next set the timer for the agitate position and check the timer for continuity on those pins noted on the sheet
