Question about Apex Digital PF2020 20" TV

Picture on Telefunken 72 cm TV expands beyond screen size

I have a telefunken 72cm TV which I have had for a few years. I do not know the model but it is a flat screen (not Plasma or LCD).

The problem I have is that the picture size seems to have increased and is pushing beyond the borders of the screen size.
So when I watch TV or a DVD the picture coming through is cut off on the edges. Also when I view details of a programme at the bottom of the screen from my digital TV decoder the text is cut off as it now pushes beyond the size of the screen.

This was not the case previously and only happened over the last couple of months.

I am not sure if this is a setting on the tv or if my screen is damaged or on the way to packing up?

The picture is still very clear and no other probs are occuring.

I can not find any ways on the TV or remote of changing picture size or setting.

I am not sure if this is enough detail or makes any sense.

Thanks and Regards

    Hi LGreenberg

Thanks allot for the info., My remote does not have an "Aspect" button and no others seem to give me cinema / theatre mode removal options that I can see.

I have established that the TV is a Model: TTV 740, 74cm Telefunken TV

Any other possibilities would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Larry

Thanks again for all the help, I managed to get hold of the Telefunken distributors and they said my problem is not a setting but an actual fault, so I will need to send the TV in.

    Thanks again

Your screen somehow got switched to theatre/cinema mode. There is a setting on the remote that attributes to aspect ratio. Sometimes it is called "ASPECT". Look for it, and press it until your original screen aspect shows.

Sometimes the remote has a "settings" button. You might have to go into this programming to find the aspect ratio. As you scroll down thru this settings menu, look for any setting that has to do with the aspect ratio/mode. My Sylvania 42" Plasma has 4 settings for aspect. Full, Widescreen, Cinema, and Sidebar. The fact that the picture is still clear tells me that it just has to be a setting. If you want, you can email me a close up picture of your remote (so I can see the writing on it). Email address: Lgcoralsprings@aol.com. Maybe I can figure it out from there. Larry.

My telefunken tv has a lock displayed on screen and it only plays one channel, can't switch to other channels or do anything. Tv model is TTV-29SX, please help.

Consult the owner manual which should have instructions to clear that or Call Telefunken with the model number and have them step you thru the process.

Child Lock is on and remote note working Telefunken 72cm TV

You really can't. Go to any big-box retailer and buy a universal remote. Get one with the least number of buttons on it. Follow the instructions to set it up and then once you access the menu you can find that setting and change it. Any twelve year old can help you with that.

TELEFUNKEN TV DOES NOT SHOW PICTURE OR SOUND

Hi,

Without knowing the specific model, I can only venture that somehow the Parental Lock has been engaged. Often to disable/disengage, a password/code of some sort is required with entry through the remote.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
