Panasonic DVD player in 2004 Escalade ''Disc Format Error''

Had this vehicle about 4 months used the factory DVD player 8-10 times and it worked fine. Now every time we try to use it an error comes up ''Disc Format Error'' we have tried several different DVD's plus the same ones that worked fine before. I also tried a cleaning disc....any suggestions?? I really need this fixed ASAP...

SOURCE: Loading Error then reads NO DISC

the disc cleaner is not exactly clean your lens! much better to open your DVD and you clean the lens with 100% cotton or cotton buds then slightly touch your cotton to lens in clockwise to remove the dirt!

SOURCE: Disk error with Kenwood DV-605 multi-disc DVD player

Try the following
when the error is on the screen, press the number 1 key on the remote, this should take you to the fist chapter of your DVD no matter which region it is

SOURCE: "No Disc" error message

remove the cover of the unit and try to clean the lens with a soft clean dry cotton swab or if you have a compress air cleaner, just blow it. most of the time cleaning can solved this kind of problem. good luck!

SOURCE: car dvd player

Your laser eye is either dirty or tired(out of alignment). Buy a cleaning kit, if it doesn't help get someone who knows how to re-align it.

Hard Drive Problem

This has happened to me once. I unplugged it overnight and plugged is back in and everything (Except for the for the DVD that was being written when it malfunctioned) Worked fine. I suspect that a Capacitor is going bad but it’s still working (for 4 months) and I will put off any real trouble shooting until it fails hard.

Panasonic DVD-LX9 "disc may not be played in your region" error

Try cleaning the lens with a cleaner?
So it only reads music/Audio CDs and won't play DVDs?
Do you get an HO2 or HO7 error? If it is that it might be
the spindle motor.

You might try this website also to reflash the firmware:

DVD+R will not play

2 Things 1 You need to Finalize the disc to play of a DVD player check that out with your DVD burn program. 2 Check the DVD players capability with certain discs, not all payers will run 'burned disks' sometimes even the brand of disk matters or whether it is + or- type There are may variables with the DVD firmware. Finalize first the the first step.

DVD Player will not play 20th Century FOX disks

The Panasonic is not "region restricted". This is a security safeguard by studios to keep people from region 1 from using region 3 content. Some material is released in other countries first and later in others. This keeps other regions from using the content from other parts of the world before it is relaesed by the studio there. Your Zenith is not a region free player and the Panasonic is. There is sometimes hacks on Videohelp.com for DVD players to be set to "region free" but not all DVD players are built with it. SONY is another non-hackable DVD player.

Model No'DMR-ES15 - U61problem

I get this message occasionally on my Panasonic DMR-ES15. It's actually a really simple fix. It occurs when there is a corruption in the disc which causes the recording mechanism to malfunction. There is a separate error message for this, however it is usually not detected until it's too late. When the recorder asks you to carry out the recovery process, do it. When the disc ejects, make sure you take the disc out that was in there when it occured and throw it away...it will keep happening because the disc is permanently corrupted. However, do not close the tray without a disc or the self-check will fail. Instead pop in a disc of the same format that the error occured in (if it was DVD+RW then put in a DVD+RW). It resolves the problem every time on the first try. (It only happened two times in a year and a half for me). As the manual says the unit is "NOT BROKEN".
