Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 Digital Camera

Beverage Spilt on Camera

I've been to a party recently and I returned to my table to find drink had been spilt on my Panasonic FZ30! I have some experience with Electronics, so I knew not to turn it on. I removed the battery and wiped down as much as I could from the surfaces and let it dry. It looked like a popular cola beverage was the damaging liquid. I've tried it now a week later and it works, but the 2 stage shutter button does not respond to the half way point for auto focus, and takes the photo without needing to press it all the way down. I'm keen to dismantle that part of the camera and clean the switch or board hoping that mind fix the problem. Has anyone got any exploded views or service manuals for the Panasonic FZ30? Any help would be appreciated.

Ice tea spilt in digital camera

Once a camera has liquid damage to it, rice isn't going to help. The contacts and everything are ruined unfortunately. Not saying you can't try rice, go ahead, but it probably won't work. Good luck.

Spilt lager over camera

It changed your Panasonic into a Canon SD500?

Seriously, there is probably damage to the internal circuits. You should contact Panasonic and explain what happened and see what your options are.

Spilt soft drink on camera not noticed for 24 hours - system seems clogged up and screen appears to have liquid trapped under it. Not moving as though already chrystalised.

The inside of your camera is not only a sticky mess by now but the acid in the soft drink will continue to eat away at the circuit board. Could be an opportunity to get a shiny, new camera.
