Question about Kenmore 15864/15862 Top Load Washer
NOISE DURING RINSE CYCLE WILL NOT SPIN IN EITHER RINSE OR SPIN CYCLE
Easy fix. This is a direct drive washer. What happened is the part between the motor and the transmission broke. It's a cheap and easy fix. If you unplug the machine and tip back the washer you will see the motor. Disconnect the wires and unscrew the 4 screws holding it in place. Once you take the motor off you are going to see broken pieces that look like little white teeth fall down. There are three plastic teeth that insert into a black rubber washer that make the transmission spin. Take that broken part into your local appliance repair shop and tell them you need a new one. Probably cost you about 10 bucks. Put the new one in and put the motor back on. You will be working again like new. These break when the machine is over loaded or old. The part you need is called a motor coupling. It's common and cheap to fix. I hope this helps you out and if you have any other questions let me know. Good luck.
