Want to use just one remote!

We just hooked up our Kenwood reciever and surrond sound to a different TV and DVD player. We want to program the Kenwood RC-R0820 remote to turn on and off the Sony DVP NS500V player and the Mitsubishi HD1080 TV. What codes do I use on the remote and what is the proper sequense buttons to push and hold? We can't find the manual for our Kenwood equipment.

Also, can this remote also control our Dish TV system?

This really is a question that Kenwood would have to answer and their phone number is 1-800-536-9663. Some remotes will communicate with the dish receiver but there are far to many manufacturers for me to be able to tell you who they are and their codes. It is much better if you go directly to the source yourself.

Have you gone through your onkyo receivers setup manual. You will most likely need to adjust the settings on your Onkyo receiver. I also have an onkyo reciever and I have to assign the inputs to the video source. Being that you got sound out of the front speakes. I am assuming when you were playing out of the dvd player your reciever was only on stereo sound. Once I get feedback I can assist you further

I have direct satalite tv VR 6050 kenwood surround sound tuner vizio tv, dvd player, and a vcr, Im confused on how its hook up and what order should it go something like sat in to sat box to kewood...

that reciever is not going to carry a hi definition video signal, it doesnt have either hdmi or component video inputs.

you can still use it, but if you run the picture through the reciever, it will have poor quality.

heres how you are supposed to hook it up:

find the single,m yellow video jack on your sattelite box, and hook that up to the "tv" video input, then hook the laft and right audio outputs from the cable box into the "tv" audio left and right inputs on the receiver. hook up the dvd player and vcr in the same manner, using "dvd" and "VCR" (if labeled as such) inputs on the reciever.

finally, send the tv video and audio outputs to the composite video in and left/right audio inputs on the tv. the video will be running through the reciever, and when you use the reciever to switch the sound source, the video will also be changed. you could get better picture quality if you ran the video directly to the tv using component (seperate green, red and blue) outputs/inputs, and bypassing the reciever on the video end, but then you would have to change inputs on the tv AND reciever to change from your cable box to your dvd player.

No sound coming from reciever from tv

Make sure connections are going-audio out from tv to d-tv/cbl in on back of reciever. Then turn on tv and turn reciever input to d-tv/cbl and make sure the input mode is on auto. Hope this helps you.
