I had the same problem. I called the repair man and my heating elements were broken, I had them replaced and now my dryer works fine. For me getting it repaired was cheaper then buying a new one. Your repair man should give you a free estimate on the cost

I have a Roper Electric dryer that will not heat up and will run through the cycles somtimes. I have ordered and replaced the heating element, thermal fuse, high limit and cycling thermostats. I have

First check the thermal fuse on the back of the filter housing.

Attached is a good troubleshooting video. I think that you will find that the Roper is the same as the Whirlpool and Kenmore
Note that the first thing that he does is to test the incoming voltage.
I suggest that you do this with the dryer running. I have seen breakers that will pass voltage without a load and as soon as a load is applied there is no voltage showing. As he says in the video the dryer can run on 110V as the motor is 110V however if it is missing the other leg of the 220V it can't heat. Another way that you could test this is to reverse the two incoming hot wires.

Good Luck.

Gas Dryer Heat wont stay on.

Must be something in the blower section. You need to get into the dryer and clean it up. Air restrictions cause overheat condition. When the temp gets so high the limits shut it down. Lots of videos on you tube that show how to get into. You can google gas dryer dan webster or roper dryer no heat dan webster and I have some videos posted how to get into these.

Gas dryer heats at first then take forever to dry, auto dry setting does not advance

If it works to begin with and fails afterwards then that can only be them solenoids mounted on the gas assembly. Here is my home video which shows how to check and replace:

Loads have to run through high heat cycle twice to get completely dry. It was drying completely with one run through any cycle.

have you checked your wall vent hole and dryer vent hole to make sure they are clear?if there not it will keep the hot wet air from coming out and take forever to dry,let me know-mike

Warm air but clothes not drying

Make sure u have seleced the high heat setting..The fact that it is heating more or less indicates that the element is o/k.
Check and clean any filter(s) that u can see,it is more likely to be a thermostat problem than anything else. and there are at least 2 of them, also check line voltage is correct.
Plz rate this solution.
thanks.

Whirlpool Gas Dryer, LGR5636EQ2, timer not moving on Auto (DryMis

If that is a 3 wire gas assembly then the timer is screwed. The orange wire when removed from the mix will make the thing advance. The trouble is in the timer. If that is a 2 wire gas operator you need to change the high limit and open up the outside vent. My opinion.

Roper dryer, timer doesn't time out and not heating up?

Dryer will run forever if it doesnt heat up, Dryer has to heat up and thermostat has to get hot and open to start the timer. Odds are rally great, it is your heating element.
