Code Number for Remote Programming

The remote control on this dvd broke and I would like to use the remote control of my cable box (Scientific Atlanta Model: Explorer 8300HD)to control it but I am unable to find the proper code to program the cable box remote. Any idea which other dvd code may work? Second option: Any other universal remote which may have the proper code capability? Thanks!!! Ismael

Re: Code Number for Remote Programming

Here is the link for the 8300 user manual if you need it; here is manual for the dvd player Not sure but try 438 or 445 as a code for your dvd, 445 most likely to work. (here is the link i got that from); if this doesn't work then find a universal remote that you can get hold of easily near you and tell us the model number, we could probably tell you if it will be compatible with both machines and what the codes are. Hope this helps :)

I have a Blu ray player with no remote how can I operate it without a remote

Some blu-ray players cut costs by eliminating operations from the console directly and it sounds like you have one of those. What I would do is to get a cable box remote and they are usually universal remotes. Then go through the programming of the remote to control other devices in addition to your cable box, and select the DVD option so you can use that remote to control it. G

How do I connect a Sony DVD DVP-SR210P to a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4240 HDC and a Sylvania TV C320SLX?

I am not sure you can connect your DVD player to your cable box. You should be able to connect both your cable box and DVD player to your TV set with two HDMI cables. This link is a pdf_usecares file of the TV manual that shows how to hook up your dad and cable box.

Hope this helps.

How do I program a dvd player with the new xfinity x1 remote? The instruction manual does not tell us how.

It is my understanding the xfinity remote is designed only to control comcast set top box and TVs. It also can control audio receivers. It is unlikely you can control a DVD player with it.

At best you could try and use the programming instructions on page 5 of the manual and see if it picks up your DVD player. Otherwise it might be better to use the existing remote controller you have and program the Comcast set top box to it. You need to find the codes from the programming instructions of the original remote control and you will also need to know the model number of your comcast box.

Hope this helps.

How to reprogram a universal remote control?

    • 1 Find the brand of the universal remote you own on Internet sites like (see Resources below).
    • 2 Click on your universal remote brand on the website to find the code list for that remote.
    • 3 Check to see if your remote is preprogrammed to operate your TV, VCR, or Cable Box using the following codes: TV - 000, VCR - 000, Cable Box - 000, AUX - use VCR code 037.
    • 4 Manually turn on your device. Hold down the "Code Search" button on your remote, then press and release the device button you want to set up until it flashes.
    • 5 Push the power button repeatedly until the device turns off, then hit "Enter."
    • 6 Press any other button while the device is on to see if the device responds. If it does, you don't need to do any other programming. If it doesn't, repeat steps 4-6.

I'm trying to program my Scientific Atlanta (Cox cable) remote to control my BD-P1590 BluRay player, but I can't find the correct 4-digit code. Can you help?

I will need the model of the Scientific Atlanta remote to try to locate a 4 digit code for you.
You can also go to the Samsung website and search their codes list. I will need a reply to further assist you. If I find the code I will post it here for you.

Need dvd code for symphonic WF104 I am using a scientific atlanta remote control

I'm guessing you have tried these already, but, you can try:

2017, 2213, 1029, 1134, 1150

if it is the ER1

014, 186

If that doesn't work, try a search by doing this:

Turn on the device.
2. Press and hold SELECT and the appropriate mode key (CBL, TV, VCR, DVD, or
AUX) until the mode keys blink twice. For example, to search for a TV code, press
and hold SELECT and TV at the same time.
Note: If you reassigned mode keys, you may, for example, press SELECT and
VCR to search for a TV code to assign to the VCR mode key.
3. Press 9 9 1. The mode key you selected in step 2 blinks twice.
4. Point the remote toward the device, and press PLAY . The remote automatically tests each code in its library, beginning with the most common codes. The mode key blinks once each time the remote transmits a new code. The mode key
blinks twice when it reaches the last code.
5. As soon as the device powers off, press SELECT.
6. Verify the new code is correct by pressing POWER.
7. Did the device power on again?
• If yes, press SELECT to assign the code.
• If no, complete the following steps:
a) Turn the device on.
b) Press channel up or channel down to step forward or back to the correct code.
c) When the device turns off, press SELECT to assign the code.
