it power up then it is making a clicking sound with no respond to the cpu

I have the same problem. However, I did not drop my drive. In fact, it worked without issue 5 days ago. Now, when I plug it in - the blue light lights up initially and then I get nothing except the red dot blinking near the part of the circle where the ports connect. There is no clicking sound and the computer cannot find the external hard drive.

I have a similar problem the drive worked several days ago. now the blue ring lights in sequence then after what seems to be a random amount of time the ring turns solid and the drive powers down and restarts.

Ok the clicking sound usually means the hard drive has failed....this might sound odd but try wrapping the hard drive in a plastic bag and popping it in the freezer overnight......then connect it to your pc.....if it is recognised by the pc transfer all the data you can from it to your pc( once the drive warms up again it might not work)....failing that you need professional help with data recovery....be aware this is not cheap though

Can SimpleTech runs on 220 voltage

Not enough info.....
Ask Simpletech. I Dont use simple tech brand but it usually is similar to other products.
Most Hard Drive Boxes are connected to a Power Pak that goes into the AC wall outlet to drop the power down to low DC voltage.
Most power pak's handle 110 & 220 ac these days. Read the tiny writing on the power pak label. It's usually marked as input & output.
Good Luck

Odd clicking noise...

That clicking sounds if ever loud enough is one annoying symptoms of failed disc. When it accidentally drop the reader may come off the disc. It sad to say but you may consider to change your hard disc.

Please help me

The motor which rotates inside along with the hard discs and the spindle might have got loosened
If this is in warranty then get it replaced , other wise you might need a new one
I also dropped mine some time ago and it made a very harsh sound , on taking it to a hardware expert who found after opening it that the spindle was loose so after tightening the screws it all started working fine but sometimes it is so bad that replacement is the only option

Simpletech hard drive

Your desktop usb compatibility is not supported your 160GB. The only way to attach you 160GB is to make it secondary partition to your primary drive by opening the CPU and attach it to your IDE cable.

Don't force yourself if you cannot do it by yourself just leave it to the expert. Probable cause to damage your hard drive if it is not installed properly.

Please rate me solved if you like my solution.

Philip
