Not totally familiar with this unit but if it is like so many other DVD/CD units, it is belt driven. Can you hear the motor trying to open it? If so, the motor is most likely OK. If not, the motor or associated componentes may need attention. FOr example, in all instances there has to be a way of reversing the direction of the mootor in order to close the drawer. To do this there is a switch inside the unit. If this switch malfunctions, the drawer cannot operate. Consider the age of the unit and wheter it is worth salvaging. I do not like working on Bose units, so anything I suggest would have a bit of a bias. But, if you feel up to it and have the skills required, and can gain access to the insides of the unit, check out the switch and the motor with an ohmmeter. The motors are generally 5 volts. Do not do these checks with the unit plugged in.
remove thepower socket from the wall, press constant on open/close of the unit, plugin the powersocket to overule the programs !
the tray will open
the best way is to do this with aid of a second person.
wish you resultsas it solves my identical problem
Completely power down the sound system, and unplug it from the wall socket. Wait a minute, and plug it in again. Power the system on.As soon as the power is on, press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the console. After a few seconds to a minute, the disk drawer will open.
That happens when you close the drawer instead of pressing the close button you can skip gears and it would have to be taken apart and re-calibrated. Sometimes it is just a glitch that you can over-ride using a straight pin into a small hole on the front (assuming this uses a drawer).

yes this is the worst bit it will cost £140 TO £200 POUNDSthe unit has locked out this is a common problem with this unit bose do not actually make this unit its a generic design the company should stick to speakers only .there are better built systems than this, people think they are buying the best its the name game again i have been in this trade a long time my moto is always buy sererates if your cd/dvd goes wrong you can pop a new one in rather than loose the lot . bose are not good on servicing slow and un reliable depending on where you are . uk not good /america dont know sorry to deflate you i have 6 off these units waiting for parts all with the same fault . people panic and take a knife to the drawer to get there beloved cd out this does even more harm a drawer will cost £47.00 a cd £ 10.00 ..TO Replace it can be retrieved so there it is. if you are in the uk my email is email@example.com we can talk if you need further assistance if you send

I love my Bose 321 DVD system, but a few days ago, it started acting weird. I put in a DVD, and it reads - "No Disc".....and I'm not sure why. I cleaned the disc, and I also played a DVD/CD Maintenance kit - I'm not sure what is wrong. It seems like I have a problem within the system - what can I do?
