Hi. Only had this gadget for a month, and it has been brilliant. But, this morning, when I used it, the water came out cold. Have emptied it and turned it off then on again but still the same. Any ideas?

Just fill it up with water and boil, then empty and repeat a few times, or put in equal amounts of white vinegar and water and leave it to soak overnight. Just make sure you rinse it really well in the morning
try vinegar neat white or brown its less corrosive than the branded descalers which do work quicker i admit but my kettle started to leak
because of these strong cleaners now i use vinegar its cheap.
place 500 ml to 1 litre in kettle switch on just warm vinegar and switch off leave in for 30 minutes swilling round empty and you can keep in a bottle and repeat every month if you wish or use in cleaning solution if you don't want to waste it look on internet 1,000 ways to use vinegar.
wash kettle with copious amounts of water inside and then use kettle cleaned and sparkling
I was searching for this solution then I found the manual in a draw so to help anyone else with the same problem the method is: Descaling should be carried out every 3 months. Fill the appliance to max. Dispense maximum size cup to a large cup. Add descaler to the cup then pour back into appliance. Dispense the mixture in the appliance into the cup and disgard. Continue until applance is at minimum water level. Empty the appliance then refill with water and run it through the machine and disgard until its at minimum then empty the appliance again. It should be ready for use. You can use 1ltr white (and only white) vinegar instead of the descaler and water mixture.
Cheapest fix is to use white vinegar to disolve the building up of limestone hardness in your water. I am certain that you find it difficult to get soap to lather well, you have a bathtub ring every time you take a bath, your towels and sheets are stiff and scratchy and your lower legs itch terribly especially in the winter. You have very hard water and you need a water softener. Find a Certified Water Specialist in your Yellow Pages.
is there one or two,, turn off power drain it down, use the water heater element wrench remove the wires and the element, install new element snug it tight, start filling the water heater while it is filling reinstall the wires, turn on a hot side faucet only let the air out, wait till you have a full flow of water out of the faucet then turn the power back on to the unit, the thermostat should beat 120 degrees,
Not having received any solution message from FIXYA contributors, I consulted with a family member
and also my long held Time-Life Books, Fix It Yourself Library, Volume: Cleaning & Stain Removal,
ISBN: 0-8094-7400-X, Copyright 1990. My issue was resolved by using white vinegar and soaking the internal problem area for 30 minutes. The appliance has cleaned up like new and works fantastic. I apologize for bothering you.
