If it is a CRT (the big one that looks like a TV set) don't do it. You could get zapped with a whole bunch of electrical voltage. I don't know if LCD monitors do this or not.

Hi! You may want to toggle the function button designated for turning the monitor on or off. Press FN button together with th efunction button that has a monitor image on it. some system uses F2 of F3 button to do this. (Example: press FN+F3 or FN+F2 button together once while computer is on to turn on system display)

Emprex LM 1905 DOES NOT COME ON NOT EVEN THE LIGHT

1. Change the power cable for the monitor and see if it comes on

2. If it does not come on, do one more test and hook up this PC to another computer

3. If the Monitor works on another PC, then the problem is with ur PC - start by changing the VIDEO CARD

Emprex monitor lm 1905 - blacks out after a

If this has an internal power supply (no external brick) then you probably have failure of the capacitors inside. The problems exhibited by these failures are usually summed up as "works for a short while and quits" or "will not come on". Yours is probably similar to some Gateway monitors that I have repaired, The parts required for the repair should be under $10.00 and should take under an hour. Now you need to find a shop that can and will do the work unless you have soldering skills.

I had the same problem. In my case, one of the panel buttons got locked against the monitor case. I fixed it by opening the monitor case, loosing the buttons and repositioning them back to their place.

Apple 30 inch monitor

No, this is not normal. This could be one of two problems. 1) internal connection to the "Y" array is somehow been compromised either through some defect in manufacturing or simply a loose connection. 2) The LCD converter board in the monitor is defective. In either case it's internal to the monitor and would have to be serviced. Have you checked with HP to see if the device is still under warranty? It just might be If not, you can try opening the unit and checking the connection on the left hand side towards the area you mentioned. But beware that the monitor does contain leatal voltages.
