Question about HP PSC 2355 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Won't print docs in black ink

I have had my HP 2355 for a couple of years. Recently, my documents in WordPerfect have been printing in blue then pink. I thought the black ink cartridge was getting low so I changed it. It is still not printing in black. I know it is not my ink cartridge because when I print from the internet, Outlook, or make a copy, the black ink works fine. Can you tell me why this is happening?

The application that you use to print may have been cofigured to avoid the black color.

 

And sometimes a virus has affetced your application e.g. MS Word.... this may cause the printer to print in any colour.

 

In this case you should reinstall the application. (first completely remove the application).

What does 'Print Cartridge in right stall not supported' mean?


It means you have a faulty or incorrect cartridge installed on the right side position. It could also mean the contacts are dirty or misaligned. Remove the cartridge, clean with rubbing alcohol and reinstall.

This is not a unknown error particularly if you are using cartridges other than the HP brand. Other people will tell you it is fine to use off brand cartridges or refilled cartridges. For myself, I have never had luck doing that - on the other hand, I have never been disappointed using the more expensive cartridges recommended by the manufacturer across several brands including Epson, Canon, Compaq and HP.

Try cleaning the contacts and ink jets. You may have to replace the cartridge. If that is the case, I would return the faulty cartridge and get a store credit.

My HP deskjet 880C is only printing in black and pink (no blue, no green, not red)


If your printer has a toolbox feature, try cleaning the printer head. I have found out with HP printers that I have owned to stay away from remanufactured ink cartridges or generic brands. I use genuine ink cartridges and buy mine from Ebay for very good prices. Just a thought.

go to printers & faxies option open that just write clinck on printer icom properties prnter setings just select your both colores u have not setlect back

The nozzle check takes very little ink it sounds as though you need to do a head clen though.

Documents print part way then stop


I've had similar problems in the past with my 1100dtn printer...there are several possible causes...it may simply be refusing to continue printing because the blue cartridge is completely out of ink...in spite of the black only setting.

Also, it could be some kind of software conflict, virus program, or spyware overload occuring in your PC...especially if the document you're trying to print is a large file, picture, or contains a lot of graphics. Try a test print from windows with other programs shut down.

Try completely removing the HP printer management software and then reinstall the latest version for your operating system from HP's web site.

A firmware upgrade may help. Firmware files and instructions are available on the HP web site. Mine printer has been running bug-free for about 18 months now...since I did a firmware upgrade. Firmware updates are complex...hopefully you'll find a simpler solution....but it may be needed, especially if your printer is more than a couple of years old.
