If there is mains supply reaching the main power PC board, then the board needs replacing.
Otherwise check the fuses and inline protection systems in order for the supply power to reach the electronics.
this is a modern machine and has a digital controller/display
so the low voltage supply circuit usually on the controller board has failed
usualy caused by water or a short or something come loose
check all connections
i feer youll perhaps need to replace the controller board
too be sure of a good lasting repair
this is what i would do then i would fix the older one and return to stock doing any firmware updates to it also
Power supply has failed to the panel board and it can due to failure of the board, failure of the surge filter or the power circuit. check the panel and if there is short within the board then the panel must be replaced
I cannot find your mothers IWL16 model, but I have found various similar machines that are the same phase as your GWL11 machine, the electronics in there although different are compatible, you can swap the drain pumps, there almost universal, avoid the drive shaft machine, fix the other one
If you want further help, post a photo of both pcb's (the electronics)
After swapping your machine will stil require programming which is simple enough
Door switch fault, either replace door switch required or maybe an adjustment of the switch. Push against door inwards when displaying dE and hold pushed in to see if it goes away to confirm switch problem
If the lid switch is defective, your washer may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.
